Change the timezone to a different time of the server location?

Me and my friend where playing on a DE server at 1 in the morning GMT time zone and it was daylight. This was a couple of patches back, but now when ever I try join a GMT-8 European server so it is daytime in game where it is night elsewhere, it still remains night.

In sort, when my friend gets his server, could he set it to be day time at night for us? As we can only play late at night

Yes, your friend will just need to change the time on his server and the DayZ server will reflect this.

Does anyone know how to do this via RCON? Our server host is refusing to do so until they put some automated system in place. Meanwhile our server sits in a time zone that's almost completely useless to us.

U could try ask your host to look @

Basicly get them to make up a custom script to start the server.

Changes the servers timezone via tzutil

Starts the server

And changes the server timezone via tzutil back to original timezone

But basicly its all up to the host to sort out.

In the mean time break out NVG, flares, chemlights

Thanks for the reply, yeah I finally found that answer through some searching around. Host is apparently working on it.
