In tents....

Recommended Posts

So I've been schlepping two tents around in my backpack for a while and figure it's time to plop them down.

Can I rely on them at all, bug-wise?

they might break some bones or eat you while next to them.. but tents need food too.

All the tents I have put up have been pretty solid. Make sure you save them after every time you use them.

One tip to putting them down is to pull them up in your inventory and click place tent and many times as you can while walking forward, best way to place them as placement is buggy.

Yeah and it helps if the server you put it on gets an update when you do too.... :/

As much as anything, yes. At this point your character can drop dead for no apparent reason or end up in the debug forest, or find your L85 missing in an update, etc. So, really, how bad can a tent be in comparison? I wouldn't put anything *in* the tent after you first place it until *after* the first server restart. So far every time I've done that I've lost whatever it was, but after the first restart things stay there, or at least as much as they stay anywhere.

Putting them up works fine, it's getting rid of them that's a problem! Because of the fiddly nature of placement, I ended up deploying / taking down one tent multiple times to get it in the perfect spot. Next day, there were tents in each location I had ever put one up (overlapping each other!). Does anyone know how to PREVENT tents from multiplying like rabbits?

After you've placed a tent, just put a raw meat, tin can or some other trash item inside and wait until after the next server restart.

If it's still there it should be safe, if not, rinse and repeat.

So in short: You can rely on them to be somewhat unreliable ;D
