Map on fire? O.o

So yesterday I decided to go on DayZ and when i finally log in the map is on fire. I can see flames and I couldn't pinpoint the source, but it was crazy like a forest fire. Does this happen a lot? and does it kill me if I go into it?

Maybe someone torched a few vehicles or spammed camp fires in the forest.

There's an ArmA2 bug that can cause a forest fire effect over a large area, if a vehicle is destroyed.. think there's a pic of it on these forums somewhere.. relogging should clear it.

Yea it was fixed. It just scared me cause everywhere I went I could see the fire

Sorry man, i was havin a cook fest with my former friend Jake , the wanderer of the wild fields cow and i dozed off after three chunky pieces of his fine fine rump. I woke up and shit was getting real all around me, like Towering Inferno real. Running back and forth from the close by pond with only a water bottle i kept on trying to put out some small tufts of grass but i was thirsty from running up the hill every time and kept drinking the contents instead. This is partly the reason i never made it past my firefighter training, the other problem was falling asleep at the hose.
