A regretful but tense DayZ situation

A little back story: During my previous life I had ended up dead while going towards a white truck spawn. I noticed people were there as I heard someone repairing a part of the truck as I came closer. I approached and then tried to contact them over direct chat while under a pine tree for about 2 minutes, then got shot in the face by one of them. They never said a word and I was unarmed, of which I also informed them.

Later, I got shot by another player at my tent camp, got my shit and ATV stolen. I was, again, unarmed. So I decided not to go unarmed ever again even thgough I play as a medic, although I would not just shoot to kill unless I was in reasonable danger.

Faith had it, that after respawning I was wandering through the bushes up north and I encountered the white truck, owned by the guy that previously murdered me. As I lay in ambush, a guy in guillie passed by and I shot him. I have to admit, even though I don't condone violence (I'm a medical player) that this guy deserved it. Justice was served.

This is how I ended up with the gear I have now and the one murder on the counter in the video. And even though I cried before that I don't shoot others, I couldn't take the chance. I'm sorry I did what I did, but I remember friends having a massive shootout with the players of his 'rescue' group on the server I regularly play and I am sure he would have taken care of me had I not done what I did.

Thanks man. Thanks for taking this hard path of a peaceful survivior. I'm proud to have met you here. Such people are a rarity in DayZ. Majority of people here are weaker and follow the simplest drive to get militant and shoot-on-sight. It's the most easy gameplay here, you don't need to be brave, cool or Arma2 pro blackops to do this. But to go agains this violent crowd of killers - this requires balls.

Still feel bad about that rescue guy I shot yesterday. This game makes you regret the decisions you make either way, it's so intense!

On the other hand I'm still not sure if this [rescue team] group is actually playing as medical like me or not. Their tents hardly had any medical gear and a buttload of weapons.. They also seem to be shooting alot and dieing alot on the server I play on.

Yeah, I told once on the forums, that DayZ is a model of human emotional and moral experience. Very close to real life. So it inherits this particular feature of when you regret your past once you've understoot something or realized you need to take other path. Agree. I love DayZ for this.

When i start playing (tonight) you two are the types of players i want to come across and play like. I'm sure this will end in my death but it's alot more rewarding in my eyes then going around sniping people.

I would, but I already have a very decent group of players that I can rely on. I mainly play lone wolf on my rescue missions, but if I get in trouble they are always there to back me up. They have a decent amount of weapons and gear and such.
