Direct chat needs fixed screw bear traps.

I just realized most PVP is probably because someone is looking (aiming) at them trying to speak over DC and they don't hear so POP.

In my experience if someone does hear me in DC i either get other voice or DC typing. Most people have a pausing reaction to hearing others in DC chat they dont just shoot or they have an OH SHIT BETTER HIDE reaction...but still most of time try and talk.

That is unless you come across a group or one person in a group. Then no matter what it is usually POP

I disagree...bear traps are vitally important game mechanic. Without them game play would be seriously affected for the worse. I just left some poor soul on the ground with a broken leg to be devoured by zeds because i was unable to communicate with them. Who cares. Maybe ill score a bear trap SQUEEEEEEEE!!!!!

This games about player killing figure it out.

Stupid me, I thought it was about survival.

Makes more sense now to render communications obsolete, while implimenting new griefing mechanics. ;)

You might wanna have a chat with some of the folks over at BIS. They are the people responsible for the functionality of direct chat.

The DayZ team are not involved with this aspect of the game.

How about we find the person responsible at BIS, put them IN a bear trap and not let 'em out till they handle it.

Well playZ, there are certainly many ways to skin a cat.....your idea has some significant hurdles to overcome, but it could be a workable option. I suggest you get started immediately and keep us updated if at all possible.
