How Many Times Have You.... (map hackers)?

"Somehow" players found my group's large camp site stretching 1200 or so meters across, every single vehicle, every single tent, everything. Each vehicle blown up and each tent looted and empty, not even a single empty tin can in our decoy tents. At every tent/vehicle the "raiders" placed a public mark on the map such as "Nice camp", "Nice duped vehicles and weapons", "Oh we also saw that here", "And here", "Burned that truck too.", "Don't need hacked stuff"... Must I go on?

But on a more serious note, our several camps were set up so if 1 was raided, all our other tents are in a safe secure place, we had tents literally invisible into tri-bushes of trees that even our own members had trouble looking for. Either those guys are the biggest hypocrites in game (hacking to find camps/blowing them to shreds)... Or so incredibly lucking and they're insanely good. Mind you, our campsites have been untouched for 20 or so days, have any of you guys come across map hackers? It really just sucked the fun out of the game after getting out characters nuked 4 or so times in the past several days, then finally everything "blown up" for us.

PS: Isn't it just a tad bit curious that these players, instead of TAKING the vehicles full of M4's, several 50 cals, LMGs, etc... They simply, blow it up? Then accuse us of hacking- (even though they're probably hacking).

So how often do you guys come across this sort of hypocritical behavior?

well actually this never happened to me because i never made a camp but finding vehicles in the woods isnt that hard if you got a L85A2 AWS :P so maybe place the vehicles far away from the camp

Oh don't worry, they were incredibly far apart, every single item from every single tent was looted, vehicles were all blown up (lots of ammo/grenades??)

I can easily find people's camps litering the wastelands of our beloved chernarus. Seriously, take a map of DayZ and draw blacks lines from each high traffic area to all the others. Then draw blue lines from each loot town and deer stand near each other by 2 kilometers squared (2 blocks in every direction).

Turns out, the entire middle of the map is a huge high traffic area. And knowing that, people like myself find everyone's camps just outside of those lines. I found 5 camps today on US124 and stolen everything from 3 of them. I was nice enough to return a boat to one, and the last one had defenders (counted 2, good fight guys, excellent use of concealment) and wiped me and my newbie colleague out in a matter of minutes.

That was in 4 hours of searching. I even left a marker on one of the camps, and I don't know it it shows up for others, "Camp w/boats". Not the best loot, but they can easily field like 7 people with those AKs.

Edit: Maybe it was US142, but in any case the area coordinates are like 138,016. Southern bump on the small bay (inland) and is poorly camoed with all the wire and tank traps they leave around.

Post-apocalyptic world where the aim is to survive, and if you don't have enough supplies you're fucked? Gathering/collecting seems like a pretty high priority to me.

Taking all the stuff for your own, when there is limited. Hm. Major part of your vehicles rusty in ur camp, noone uses it. You eliminate the possibility to have a encounter with another team with vehicles or to find one. It makes the whole game boring. Sadly nearly everone thinks he must gather all vehicles from the server...

Having camp looted and/or destroyed is part of the game. sorry, but that gear isn't yours. it's open world material and working as intended. suck up your losses and resupply,. and possibly move your camp to somewhere less predictable.

Oh yeah. Lately the server I play on has had 6 different camps found in the matter of days. It seems wherever they are put, a few hours later they are refound, and demolished over and over. One of the more recent times there was a fire spawned on one... I feel since this patch there has been an increase? Or just never noticed them as much before.

Maphacking and teleporting exist, sure, but there's also a lot of legit players who search the grid on quadbikes witht he sole intent to raid camps. I'm on of them, and if I find one tent or vehicle, I always assume there's more nearby.

The map hacks exist its been proven its been seen in use the luck of finding camps that everyone keeps claiming is stupid. It takes hours upon hours to search a single server for camps and thats if they have a vech to use.

Sure some camps are found and raided that way but when multiple camps completely seperated and concealed well are found within such a short period of time its a map hack period.

We have had camps last 1-4 weeks then days where camps wont last for more then 1-3 hours just watch whos online each time your camp is raided. Logout and back in under a diff profile name and camp your camp kill the people who come or get there names is its on and then ban them. BOOM your next camp will likely not be found again for another 1-4 weeks which is the usual time frame where camps are discovered.

Your camps will always be found its inevitable so dont get too attached. We quit even trying to conceal ours and just put them in obvious places and make them big and scary looking. This is what we did on our most recent camp and it has yet to be raided almost 5 weeks now lol.

Esp and map hacks are know to exist , my advice dont keep cars near your tents . From what i understand

they can see cars and players on the map but not tents . I would advise you all to visit a famous hack site in the arma

section there is a lot of useful info ( know your enemy ) .

Stopped reading there. In RL, my friend, there are not 20 vehicles. There are x billion. Also, not a landscape with 240km², but 49.430.000 km².

I'm glad to hear the OP and his little gang of cheating shits got their stuff blown up by the server admin (probably was the admin lets face it) and all their duped items. That's the way to treat game hackers and the OP practically admitted as much lol ALL the vehicles, guns etc etc how the hell is that even possible without cheating!?! Exactly it, isn't you got what you deserved.

Also we blow up the vehicles because we don't need them. We take the good stuff like NVG, AS50 and UAZ then blow up the rest since it's only garbage we don't need, now other players can find and repair them, and you're going to relocate your camp either way. Sometimes I wonder why people try to hide stuff like buses and civi cars in the woods, they do like 12km off road and are stick out like a sore thumb.
