I am not a bandit. I say this often, because i do not feel i belong in this category.

i have often stated how i will fire at people who are in my way, but simply out of fear.'

But i wanted to bring another thing to the surface for you all to think about.

Example-

I am out of food, out of water, i cant find anything...times running out...

A player comes across my path

well..often people will just fire at them Killing them and loot their body.

I have started doing something different which has become EXTREMELY effective.

I will shoot them in the leg/lower body once (99% of the time this does not kill them) ---unless your packing something like an AS50 of course---

Making them pass out and lose 6000-7000 blood.

i will then take what i need i.e Food/water

Leaving their guns, their bandages, bloodbags, whatever.

This is a mental choice you have to make and is part of my Roleplaying experience. youd be surprised how you can just injure someone enough to make them submissive. and only get what you need.

Rather than killing someone and ending up leaving 90% of their stuff on their corpse because you already had most of it anyway.

Never really thought anything like that. The only down side is that the victim will be on low blood with wounds and such that leaves them very low chance of surviving, almost same as dying, but still not.
