Group Option (joining up in a group)

One thing I particularly love about this mod, is that you cannot see who is who via the name... and its hard to see people. it's not like a big ass name pops above your head giving away your position.

THIS IS AMAZING, HOWEVER...

When you ARE in a group and want to differentiate your friend from someone else, it's pretty fucking hard. Other than talking you don't know. People say this is realistic but I argue otherwise..

In real life you will know who your friends are... because... well you've seen them, You've seen their face.. you know who they are... the way this could be represented is by a group option. You can form a group and then and only then will the name show up above the persons head.

You can also make this radius effected.. so you have to be within a certain distance (preferably close) to see it. Otherwise from a distance it won't work.

I just feel like this is the best way to implement something that is both realistic and also works to make it so it's not inconvenient as fuck to know who is who.

Also ... I feel this wouldn't be TOO difficult to put into the game. A menu system really... just like anything else.

Agree. We really need groups. Lost a few guys cuz of friendly fire in close quarters, which is not cool at all.

Grouping would be great.

I don't want to run around for an hour trying to find my buddies while newbies take potshots at us.

its tricky indeed, I spend many many frustrating minutes trying to tell clanmates 'no, in MY bag.. take the ammo from my bag!' im the one with the winchester!' or other such things.

but. I wouldnt change it. again, it adds a level of difficulty to the game. its not like its hard in normal servers, it shows you who they are. its only tricky on veteran/hardcore. and thats what it should be. thats WHY its veteran. use /salutes. use face skins. use aviator glasses.. use something to stand out. but no, no gameplates/..

No way, dude. Server difficulty shouldn't matter. If you play on "normal" server you can SCAN areas for name tags from really far away, which is cheating. So not everybody likes to play on that difficulty setting.

Also, friendly ID in non-combat situation is not an issue here. In combat, it doesn't matter what face skins/glasses you have, it is pointless. We need solid ways to distinguish people we play with from the others.

So, again - we need them groups. Really.
