Not sure if these are actually legit loot but we found them in a tent on a US server. We took them anyway and decide to try some antics at Stary Sobor on ANZ 3 server. For some reason you cannot hear my voice from fraps.

No you have to place them they look like a pouch from a vest, once they have been placed the soldier that put them down has a new option on their scroll mouse menu to 'Touch off' the bomb. Or you can set them to a timer I think not sure on that though.

Ok normally I hate when people post about killing others but this is actually pretty damn funny. I had found a 2 satchel charges in a barracks a month or so back but never had the opportunity to use them.

With the amount of people telling me it's legit, I guess I have to believe it.

I've just never heard about them nor seen them being used.

And with a quick look around the DayZDB map and official Wiki, I couldn't find anything about them.

Most of the loot maps list them as "pipe bombs", but they are satchel charges. Also, those loot maps are not 100% correct. For example, portable generators.

Satchel charges are legit, but their pervasiveness is purely due to duping glitches. if you find a camp with 3 or 4 they're almost assuredly duped and you should destroy the camp.

Pipebombs, I've seen those in the DB map.
