Taking out 5 players in the span of 10 minutes.

Recommended Posts

Today was a very successful day, bandit-wise. And be warned, it's a long one.

And it started rather crappy....

I got shot on my dirtbike....losing my entire kit AND the bike. A few hours after that, when me and my crew returned to our camp, our two vehicles and most of the stuff from our tents was gone. Turns out I had actually heard earlier, how the douchebags crashed our pickup outside of Gorka. The driver died in the crash, I gave the pessenger a .50 to the back...oh sweet revenge...I didn't know it at the time, I thought it was just a random crew with a pickup.

Anyway we decided to change servers and find a location for a new camp. So we packed up what we cold carry and kitted up, and started our journey. At this time it was me (Pixel), BAEM and Paddy, who were moving through Cherna, all ghillied up and armed to the teeth.

We soon made it up to Vybor, where we found an ATV, fully fueled and ready to go.At this point, Paddy was afk and several minutes behind. So BAEM and I decided to take the ATV for the time being and scout ahead...check a few known vehicle spawn locations and a find a good place for a tent. We found both. At first a nice little site, that we makred for later camping...and then another ATV, this time completely damaged and with lots of stuff in it (7 satchels, a MK48 with 5 belts and all the parts for the necessary repair, sans two wheels) Our goal now, was of course to find the missing wheels.

At this time, Paddy was back and in bad need for food and drink, so he decided to go into Vybor, where we met him at the gas station. After a quick discussion, we decided that BAEM was gonna check Vybor for wheels, while I took Paddy to our campsite on the ATV (he had the tent) As fate wants it tho, I flipped the ATV going over the bridge in Vybor (damn you, Arma engine!). So now we had to flip it back, for which we need the second ATV, so we need those wheels. At this point Foxman, our fourth, logged on, he was still near our old camp. So he went back to that server, took our wheels out of the tents and made the long journey to the airfield on foot.

In the meantime, BAEM, Paddy and I decided to make a run on the airfield, maybe find some wheels. We raided the southern barracks and adjacent buildings without incident...but also without wheels. But we saw zombies at the firestation across the field, meaning players! We moved to a overwatch/sniper position. BAEM was carrying a DMR, Paddy's got an AS50 and I quickly put my silenced M4 into my pack and took out the M107. We watched...and waited. Nothing happened, the zombies despawned. BAEM says he's gonna go to the other side, check the industrial compound for wheels. He moved over, we stayed. Nothing happened at first. He then aggroed a bunch of Z's and ran out of ammo for his silenced M9, so he had to use the DMR. At nearly the same time he fired, two other players fired on him, but missed badly. BAEM ran like a bitch and managed to evade without injuries. He retreated back to the damaged ATV in the woods, Paddy and I kept overwatch, sadly not seeing the two players.

Things stayed like this for a while. Somewhere in between, I lost my ghillie suit due to a re-log error, so I was a little uncovered, but still in a bad position. Foxman soon arrived at BAEMs position, they repaired the ATV and moved towards the flipped one.

So, at this point, Foxman and BAEM are far off the airfield and Paddy and I are on two sides of the same tree, hidden and waitiing....and now it got interesting!

Pixel: "Hey Paddy are you walking around behind me?"

Paddy: "No man, I'm still laying here."

So I turn my head and whadda you know...two players, jogging through the wall and right by us (maybe 10 meters distance) like it's cool, without seeing us.

Pixel: "Holy shit, don't move, two guys right behind us!"

Paddy: "Oh fuck, why didn't I hear them?"

Pixel: "Forget it, just get ready to run. Even if we take them out, we can't stay to loot after we fired our cannons."

So I quickly slap the zero on my M107 to 100m....let them walk by..take a knee...and pray to god. I aim for the first one....BAM...center mass in the back, he goes down. I was shooting on my knees, so the recoil of the fifty was a bitch...It took me too long to readjust. enough time for the second guy to figure things out. he got off two rounds in my direction with his M4 before I center-massed him to the chest, taking him down too.

I took a quick breath and then Paddy and I hauled ass, off the field and south, getting distance in. We decided to circle around and watch the flipped ATV, keep overwatch while BAEM and Foxman try to flip it (they werent there yet). I was going first, so I was also the first to see them: three other players. moving across the field towards a barn south of Vybor, not far from our ATV. I kneeled, guesstimated the distance and fired. I missed the first shot cause they were moving. But the last guy of the group hit the dirt as soon as I fired and started crawling and rolling, turning towards me, too. He had a DMR, so he needed to go. I readjusted....BAM..headshot, one down, two to go. The other two made for the barn and Paddy and me kept watch of the entrance, but we couldnt see the back of it.Lucky for us, BAEM and Foxman had of course heard about the commotion on TS and circled around it all, so they were able to get them from behind. We knew they were in a little shed off the main barn, but we couldn't get to them.

What did we do? We used the old "scare the shit ouf of them tactic". Foxman grabbed the MK48 off the ATV and just bursted the shed with rounds. Sure enough, they ran, for the main barn. With the machine gun going from south and the sniper north, they didnt count for added accuracy from the south, too. As soon as they bolted from the shed, BAEM took one of them down with his DMR. The last one had made it to the barn, he was now trapped. He had a MK48 and a DMR pointed at the south door, an AS50 covering the north door...and I had moved to cover the west door.

We wanted to take him down, too. I quickly grabbed my M4 out of the backpack and moved in, along with MG-Gunner Foxman and marksman BAEM from the south.I saw the guy in the small west door..and he saw me. I quickly moved from the line of fire and gave supressing fire onto the door, to keep him inside. While I did that, Foxman and BEAM moved to the main entrance and leaned around the corner...

I heard one long burst and a few DMR shots and saw a couple of tracers fly out the backdoor, but most rounds hit their mark, he was now dead, we had taken him down without losses, without injuries, even.

We had the sweet satisfaction of taking their loot...weapons, backpacks, night optics and of course....BEANS!

Sadly...in all the goings on in Teamspeak..with the attempts of flipping over the ATV and the collecting of gear from the dead, we completely missed that our fifth guy, Melo, was moving in on us. So as I was moving some stuff around, I saw some guy a hundred meters north of us...and I called it out. There was a little rushing and shuffling, a slight panic...and then three DMR shots in quick succession. BAEMs murder count got up to 7...and Melo was dead.

In the end, we got the ATV back on all fours, found a second tent on the dead guys (thank you!) and moved to set up camp without further incidents. Melo got picked up in Zelenogorsk, so all was good, as we had saved his gear, naturally.

And I want to take this chance for something...

You group of three people we took out: I do not know your names. But THANK YOU! Thank you for staying and fighting, you had several chances to cowardly log off (at least two of you did...) and you didn't! You chose to stay and fight like men, which is so rare in DayZ these days....I don't know if you had made the same decision had you known how many of us there actually were...but you made the decision anyway, which is good! Thank you!

Dude, i totally agree. I hate it when people don't just stand up and fight like men. I have a lot of respect for those guys. By the way, I'm impressed. Good job

Great story, I agree. I always stay in nowadays no matter how well geared I am. I just don't feel like I deserve it otherwise. It's like cheating. I've begun to go by the line of thinking that maybe if I don't, I can influence others in the same way!
