How is the score calculated?

Hello all. I was just wondering if someone could tell me how the score on the scoreboard and the score on websites like Gametracker, e.g. http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/209.222.91.218:2352/ is calculated.

Score = Zombie kills atm i think, it counts anyone who logs on until resets after a server restart.

I was wondering this myself. In game score is based on number of kills, but on sites like gametracker, especially if you keep stats on your server, it keeps a running score log. Not sure how it's calculated though because it's greater than the sum of your running score(s) between deaths.
