Horrible FPS in big cities

Recommended Posts

I'm experiencing quite bad FPS as soon as I get near Cherno/Elektro. Once inside the city, it usually constantly drops down to about 10-15 fps which is HORRIBLE in PvP situations.

Outside Cherno/Elektro I usually have no performance issues and play around 30 fps. Frame Drops only occure in the big cities.

What's the reason for this? Is there any way to fix this? I saw some people streaming on twitch who didn't have any frame drops when entering Cherno. Is it possible that this depends on the server you're playing on? I'm confused right now..

Everyone gets bad performance in the bigger cities. It's because of more buildings, objects, zombies, players, projectiles, sounds (everything basically) need to be loaded. I get 10-25 fps in Cherno (depending on the server and number of players and zombies).

If you do not have a +3.2GHz processor and a good graphics card, you will always suffer from bad fps in those circumstances.

Don't worry. Even on I7 2600k 4Gh and a GTX580 I get awful FPS in those big cities. There's nothing that can be done about it. It's just the way this engine was made. Hopefully Arma3 will be optimized properly.
