L85A2 AWS fixed? Need help

Recommended Posts

I have picked up a L85A2 AWS and i was wondering if it was safe to put it into my inventory since it's in my backpack. Last time i put it into my inventory from picking it up it disappeared giving me an error message in the last patch (patch 1.7.2).is it safe to transfer it from my backpack to inventory?

I believe it is. I just got one about 10 minutes ago. Nearly shit my pants in excitement. I immediately dropped my Lee Enfield for this beauty.

It's not. If you disconnect with a L85A2 AWS in your hand, you will lose it. I learned the hard way, haha. Keep it in a backpack when disconnecting and reconnecting, and keep in your hand when shooting (obviously). Hope this helps.

God, I hope you're wrong Soviet. I logged out shortly after getting the gun in fear of my life. I feel that now that I have it, the entire world is out to find me and take away my precious.

Edit: Something might definitely be wrong with it if you log out with it. When I logged back in, I had an M240 in my hand, which was previously in my backpack. But, thankfully the L85 took the M240's place.

This is just my experience, do not follow what I say and blame me, but I think it's fixed.

I have 2 accounts and even though I knew not to log on with the last patch, I did on accident, trying to get on my alt account. Was wearing a ghillie and holding my L85, both gone. I have since gone on to 1.7.2.3 and grabbed both a L85, and ghillie from our truck.

Some people have said that on 1.7.2.3 you lose the ghillie/L85 still after logging out but that is not true for me. I have logged in with my NEW L85 and ghillie and it's fine. Just stay away from 1.7.2, but it may have to do with the ArmA2 Beta version as well.

I picked up an L85 2 days ago and it's fine. Ditto ghillie etc.

E: noticed post above.

Yes, it is definitely bugged. Logged in to several servers just fine, then all of a sudden, poof. Gone. Didn't even have a chance to fire it. v.v

This is true, after a few server hops with it in the inventory it disappeared.

It's not fixed. I found one at a heli crash and dropped my bizon sd. When I signed back on I only have my M107 now <_<

Then you didnt wait for the server to save your character. The L85A2 AWS is 100% fixed. My team has 3 of them.

I have had this same issue. We have found 2 L85A2 AWS at a single crash site and we put them in our backpacks. They stayed there fine, but when we had them in our hands, and then jumped a few servers they vanished completely. Sucks, but what is worse is that we dropped a lot of our stuff to accomodate it, and now it is all gone.

This might not be just a L85A2 issue but rather a database syncing issue. Make sure you are on the server for a decent amount of time with the gun out (30+ minutes) and make sure you kill a few zombies with it. My theory is that the servers and code that run the inventory databases can't handle the current load of players so there are a lot of lost packets that cause people's new items not to sync. In order to facilitate that, do not disconnect just after finding a weapon. Make sure you have it for a good amount of time and and kill some zombies (or players) with it before you disconnect.
