Should I wait for Arma 3 to come out or just get Arma 2?

Like topic says, I'm contemplating whether or not to get Arma 2 now with Arma 3 on the way. The reason for getting Arma is partly b/c of Day Z but after awhile it's hard to play the same arcade shooters, I've seen videos and reviews for the game and it looks really good and different from what I've played in shooters before. I'll stop rambling now, just wondering what your all's opinion on the matter is.

You can try Arma X for free and get a feel for the mechanics of the game and see if you like it.

Rocket has stated the he wants to for a standalone type of game, so we might not even see a port to Arma 3.

I think you should get ArmA II:CO now and get use to DayZ now and have an advantage when arma 3 comes out.

I bought it for DayZ, and at first the game seemed weird as hell (not just DayZ, but normal Arma too). I played through some tutorials to get a little feeling about the game and then I went for DayZ. Now I play both (normal Arma and DayZ) and I love them.

edit: Besides, Arma2 CO is on sale on steam atm.

its your choice if you have steam i wouldnt wait theres a deal right now for arma 2 it might put you ahead of other players if you get used to the game and how the world of dayz works before arma 3 comes out

Why wait? The two options in the poll indicate you will purchase eventually, so why torture yourself with youtube vids waiting for the day the standalone is released.

Sure you may end up buying twice, but it will be worth it because you are supporting an amazing game/mod. Plus, Rocket knows that many people already spent money on arma II for Day Z and has already said that he is considering that when they setup the standalone.
