Server Maintenance and Reboots?

Recommended Posts

Looking fopr some information about what can/should be done to keep up the quality of your server during downtime between reboots?

(clear logs, etc?)

What things do you guys all do as "Server Maintenance" to prevent your server from becoming laggy, outside of just simply rebooting?

I have to go right now so I can't give you a better answer, but in terms of log rotation the biggest key item is your cfgdayz/BattlEye/server.log; the thing inflates like a mad man, I recommend cycling at least every 2-6 hours; be sure to not just delete it, but move it to another disk/directory and rename it for storage, so you can analyze them later for hackers.

I dont seem to have a server.log in that folder location, just a scripts.log

I have not rotated this file as of yet and it is so large that it will not open or causes any program i try to use to open it to crash.

edit:

Just checked the folders created by the log rotator .bat file and there are no files found in the folders. Must be something setup wrong in my .bat

The problem is we have it setup to not use the default log file name and location as we run several servers. So we made a log for each server its self. The bat file is trying to rotate the original default log file.
