My day - A very cool story, bros.

Recommended Posts

I had a fun day today.

I spawned fresh, new to the game, this being my second attempt at life. I had no weapons, no food and no drink. After getting my bearings, I headed inland for a while, eventually coming across a small village. I snuck into a few buildings, my heart pumping, my ears perked up and listening to see if the heavy breathing of the zeds turned into screaming. I found a Makarov, some beans and a can of coke, which I immediately consumed. After a close scrape with a few zeds, in which I lost 4 and a half thousand BP, i bandaged up and set off inland again, sticking to the forests, but all the while I kept a watchful eye on the road.

I found another village, but that was pushed out of my mind by the sight of another survivor. I considered pot-shotting, but decided against it, as I only had 2 mags and this person appeared to have a rifle. I once again crept in to town, looted the barn and found a Winchester 1886, as well as a copious amount of 2rnd slugs, pasta, and carbonated beverages. I set off into the wilderness once more, switching the roles from last time I left a town by hunting the zombies. After a blind hike through the dark I realised I had gone entirely the wrong way, and was now at the coast (doh!). Betraying every instinct I had and every piece of advice I had been given, I set off along the coast.

I was armed, I was cocky, and I was absolutely terrified. The sun broke over the horizon just as another small town came into view. I heard gunshots and instantly went prone behind a bush. I pushed myself up into a crouch, barely able to breath, afraid this stranger would home in on the sound of my racing heartbeat from across the field. He didn't look too friendly, at any rate. I crawled through the long grass, every fibre of my being screamed at me to turn around. Of course, being the sensible, level-headed young man I was, I disobeyed and crawled closer. I was now within shooting distance, so I propped myself up, drew my Winchester, and rolled out of cover. I was disoriented by the tumble, but luckily the mysterious prey had not yet noticed me. At this stage I noticed his friend, a figure in a gillie suit, armed with an M4A1 SD. After briefly panicking about this new arrival, I thought "Buck it" and took aim.

My crosshairs lined up at the top of the first stranger's head, I held my breath... and squeezed. I was once again surprised at how quiet this shotgun was, but I pushed the thought from my mind as I waited for the results of my shot. A gasp escaped my lips, which had been set in a grim line, as the figure toppled to the ground. A quick glance at my stats told me the shot had not been fatal. However, I knew the only way this guy was surviving was if his friend bandaged him up right that second, which would allow me to take both of them out and get some good loot as well. His better equipped friend snapped round towards me. I quickly rolled back into cover, praying to whatever God that would let Chernarus fall into such a state that I had not been spotted by the dark figure. I muttered "game over man, game over" as the hiss of a silenced weapon filled the air and clouds of dusts flew up around me as the bullets penetrated the earth at such a frightening speed that I knew I was done for. I crawled to another bush, concealed by the long grass, and went up into a crouch behind it. I leant out, but the figure had advanced. I was spotted, and he fired another burst through the bushes.

I lay crippled on the ground, legs broken, blood near empty, and thoroughly happy, for I had noticed that my murder count had gone up.

"Your friend is dead," I whispered through my parched lips, "and you could have saved him."

The mysterious figure stopped and turned around at my words, staring at his friend's lifeless body, no doubt wondering if he could have dragged his friend to safety and bandaged him up.

This pause gave me just the window of opportunity I needed to put a slug his back. He dropped to the ground, dead as a doorknob, and I crawled over to search him for medical supplies. There were none. I had shot a survivor looking for medical supplies, his friend's heart had sunk as he realised that his partner was down, and his only thought was revenge, even if it was his last act. It was. Murder count at 2, I passed out from blood loss, and never woke up. My last thought was "How bucking badass am I?".

So, I hoped all you bros liked my cool story.

Also, I just wanted to mention this is a dramatisation of events. What really happened was I came across a guy, shot him, his friend shot me, I killed the guy that shot me, shat myself as I realised that the inevitable was happening to me, then died deciding that I wanted to be a bandit.

Sweet...

I'm still not sure if I should be a bandit or a survivor...

Whichever feels right.
