Hi were do i start i sore this game on youtube then decided i want it and i went and downloaded arma 2 combined oparations from steam (took 36 hours) at 150kb/sec hahaha and i go to play it and i sometimes get 3d graphical error but as soon as i load a server i chose a team then it loads with the tanks on screen then just as it shows you on the right hand side the players and the map in the background it freezes and stops working. i have installed six updater and ive also tried to run though steam i have try alot of the fixes on this forum but cannot get it to work. i have been trying for like 7 hours and really want to play it now i have downloaded. i tried to install the beta from the website and it says wrong cd key so i followed the LVG tut on how to stop this and nothing :/ my pc specs are

AMD Phenom x4 970

12gb ddr3 ram 1600mhz

5770 1gb

I have also tried to update the drivers but were up to date so im not sure what else to do any help appreciated.

Try these steps. Solves problems for me.

- Make sure steam is running in admin mode (or else it fucks up)

- Right click both ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 OA and go to Properties (on Steam), then go to the last tab, I think, and press "Verify Game Cache"

- Run ArmA 2 FIRST, without OA, let it get to the menu.

- Run ArmA 2 OA

- Install beta patch via Six Launcher

- Go to Steam Folder, steamapps, common, ArmA 2 OA folder, Expansions, Beta. Copy the ArmA 2 OA .exe in there. Make a backup of the original one. Overwrite the original .exe with the beta .exe (Original one is in the root ArmA 2 OA folder. Not the one in the expansions/beta).

- Go to Steam, Right click ArmA 2 OA, Properties, Set Launch Options.. Paste this: -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -mod=@dayz

Should work then.

Do note that running ArmA 2 with that launch option WILL make your Singleplayer UNPLAYABLE.

If you want to play Singleplayer, either remove the launch option line (And maybe Beta Patch), or skip the Overwrite original .exe step and launch it via Six Launcher, but you won't have Steam then.

This is simple, You actually have to launch arma 2 and OA before going into dayz. Gl and happy zombel hunting.

done that and i manged to get to where you press opfor then it stopped responding ?

You don't press OpFor or anything anywhere in DayZ. You press on the "OK" button on the bottom right.

Yes sorry thats what i ment then after you have a tank loading screen then you have to press ok again thats where it freezes it has the map in the background

Right i can join any server apart from dayz i can play single player and no freeze or crash but as soon as i go in a dayz server it stops working (not responding) ive jsut installed the mod manually but it dident work iver ?? annoying now :/

Well, just from you saying that the Singleplayer works makes me think you did something wrong.

After installing DayZ properly, adding the Launch Options line to Steam and installing the Beta Patch, Singleplayer stops working.

yea i deleted it to test single player just to see if it was a graphics error

OMGGGGGGGGGGGG fixed at last 9 hours later :/ i deleted be client in app data
