"BattleEye initialization failed" Fix for clients unable to connect

Recommended Posts

Since DE12 and DE13s logs get spammed with "kicked due to BE not being able to update" I feel the need for this little tutorial since a lot of players seem to be unable to play at the moment.

  1. Go here: http://www.battleye.com/download.html
  2. Download v1.61.94945+ BE Client for Windows (32-bit) (Version number may vary in the future. Just download the newest version number.)
  3. Go to your download directory and copy the BEClient.dll you've just downloaded
  4. Go to your ArmaIIOA root. Look for .....\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye -E.g. for steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye
  5. Copy your new downloaded BEClient.dll into this folder and override the old one.
  6. ???
  7. Profit

This fix also works for BE troubleshooting if you can not get onto servers or if you get constantly kicked by BE.

Some of you may encounter client crashes after doing the update manually.

If this is the case, try the solution Xam provided. Thanks a lot Xam! *beans*

Got it working. The "Reinstall" option of Battleye in steam doesn't actually reinstall it.

[*]Go to your windows start menu -> All Programs.

[*]Look for Bohemia Interactive.

[*]Go into Battleye subfolder and chose to uninstall from there.

[*]After that is finished. Make sure every BattleEye file is removed from its directory.

[*]Now' date=' go into steam and chose to reinstall BattleEye again. This time you will be prompted with a popup like the first time. Just click next until it's done.

[/list']

It should now work again! You will need to find a server that updates your BattleEye automaticly. Manually updating it will cause your game to crash.

Same here. After manually updating BE folder to latest version my game client started crashing during load (was also happening with the previous version

V1.1 - V1.60

Prior to that, the game was loading fine, but I was getting constant "kicked / B E unable to update".

Currently doing a fresh install of Combined Ops and Mod Files.

I hate to say this but I tried all of the steps you posted and all I got is OA not responding message. It's not working imo.

My game is crashing right after the first loading screen with all the vehicles. At "Receiving mission files page" to be exact. Solution?

This happened after I manually tried updating. I even restored the old files, and I'm still crashing.
