Steam not recognizing update?

Recommended Posts

So after the new update, I ran six launcher as usual and what not. I like to play through steam so I can see when friends get on, however for some reason steam doesn't let me play on the new servers. So I manually downloaded the new patch and replaced all the files in my dayz addon folder with them but for some reason if I launch through steam it seems it still does not work. How do I get it so Steam recognizes the update?

Thanks

Ditch steam for running arma2.. just use a launcher, and setup a TS server for your friends..

If there is a steam issue, then you would be better contacting Valve for info..

As I said, I just like running through steam. I'm sure there are others that have hadthis problem?

Did you copy your "Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" to "Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead" ?

If not, you have to do that when running through steam. Otherwise it will just run the original version and not the beta.

Do I need the arma2oa.exe in both the beta and opa folders?

What????????? I don't recall overwriting the stable .exe with the unstable beta .exe a good idea. you should seek a guide for launching the game as beta instead of screwing your install. here's the simplest guide to doing so. http://dayz.sykotix.com/arma-ii-beta-client-install/

Edit the .cmd file you download if you don't like starting in windowed mode (instructions are in the comments).
