pjsparkles 0 Posted July 14, 2012 So after the new update, I ran six launcher as usual and what not. I like to play through steam so I can see when friends get on, however for some reason steam doesn't let me play on the new servers. So I manually downloaded the new patch and replaced all the files in my dayz addon folder with them but for some reason if I launch through steam it seems it still does not work. How do I get it so Steam recognizes the update? Thanks
alan.dougherty@ntlworld.com 24 Posted July 14, 2012 Ditch steam for running arma2.. just use a launcher, and setup a TS server for your friends..If there is a steam issue, then you would be better contacting Valve for info..

XAM 48 Posted July 14, 2012 Did you copy your "Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" to "Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead" ?If not, you have to do that when running through steam. Otherwise it will just run the original version and not the beta.

icomrade 201 Posted July 14, 2012 What????????? I don't recall overwriting the stable .exe with the unstable beta .exe a good idea. you should seek a guide for launching the game as beta instead of screwing your install. here's the simplest guide to doing so. http://dayz.sykotix.com/arma-ii-beta-client-install/Edit the .cmd file you download if you don't like starting in windowed mode (instructions are in the comments).
