Unable to enter game due to bad serial number?

I've been having difficulty actually entering a game for DayZ, I'm not sure why either. Everything has been updated everything including Six Launcher is working, but after entering a server, after a few moments the window closes and i recieve an error message stating. " Bad serial number given in setup"

I've tryed all kinds of servers and have had no luck, restarted computer etc. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

I have not torrented the game I purchased it off of steam for 23.99 2 days ago. I even checked for that reason so I'm very confused now. I feel it could be an issue on Steam's part, however I feel that is highly unlikely.

If you read the installation instructions here on the website you'd see that you need to run both games as administrator from steam the very first time, if you do not do this you cannot play the game. :-)

search the forums, that error is usually because of a botched update process. You can try to manually install the latest beta from here http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php It's the one in the green box. Or you can simply reinstall, then install the beta after you run ArmA 2 first then ArmA 2 OA second then ArmA 2 Combined Ops third. After you get the beta installed you can install DayZ.
