Trade and loot

I've searched the forum and internet but can't find an answer.

I know you can't trade with another player (I sure hope they will do something about this) but can you loot the other players backpacks? I mean right now most stuff just get lost in the ground even on a flat surface so to be able to trade like that is risky but if you point at a player and he stands still is there anyway to grab items from his backpack?

Yes you can take items from a players backpack. Just stand close enough to where you get the option (Open <back pack name>) and hit G. From there you will be able to see everything in his/her bag. However I think you should know if you are going to take things out of a pack. Make sure you have room in your pack to hold these items. If you don't they will delete themselves.

Awesome! Seems like not many knows about this. It's also good if you meet another player you don't trust and remove his gun untill you trust him, just as it would be irl mostly.

Yes. Use your mouse wheel while staring at the player. Scroll the mouse wheel, select "Open (name of pack they have on)".

You can't remove a gun straight out of their hands. You cannot remove anything from their immediate inventory, only items from their backpack.

Haha I will try but no, it's not my way even though it's more friendly then to shoot him/her in the back ;)

Yeah I'm not sure stealing/destroying someone else's gear is going to improve the trust-relationship. Might actually increase the chance of him plotting sinister long-term plans for your painful demise ;)
