  1. What's up, everyone? I haven't been on the forums or DayZ in quite a while. Just started back up on the mod in respect to the stand alone being out now and I don't have the $$$ to get it just as of yet. Anyway, when the hell did the zeds get so strong? Seriously, I used to be able to stand up to a zombified Chris Brown back in the day, and now it's like I'm made of jello. I'm not saying that we should go back to the old ways of the zombies, because they weren't a threat whatsoever then, but now they have the strength of a thousand suns. I've played DayZ as a lone wolf for 95% of the DayZ career and now I feel as though the simple act of zeds getting retard strength forces you to have a squad with at least one silenced weapon. Jesus christ, a single annoying zed that finds me out in the middle of bum-fu*ked Egypt (AKA a field) beat me down to half my health in a matter of just a few hits while I was trying to line up a head shot as he's jumping around like a crackhead experiencing excited delirium. Anyone else a little annoyed with how deathly strong they are now? They were weak before, but it's literally like a caterpillar has turned into a rhino with these guys. Holy hell.

  4. wat cannot stress enough the -rarity-, in terms of DayZ "rare". SVD camo has a 12 in 10,000 chance of spawning in a barracks. That's quite rare.
  5. With all the topics, I think it would be a great idea to just have a main thread for any and all questions for the SA. Would keep the board a little cleaner. Anyway, with that being said and aside, here are a few things I'm concerned about with the SA: 1) The darkness at night - I'm hoping it won't be dreadfully dark like it currently is. Still, "realistically" dark, but not like the pitch black we've seen. Light from the stars and the moon definitely light up the area enough for somebody to be able to partially see. 2) The 'jerking' motion when aiming down the sight(s) - The jerking motion doesn't portray the realistic nature of a person looking down the sight(s) of a gun. A swaying motion is more likely. Just my 2 cents. 3) Drug usage - Will there be drug usage in the game? I don't mean necessarily hardcore drugs, but things such as caffeine that will have an effect on your movement, aiming, breathing, etc. I've seen some threads that talked about alcohol, which would finally give some light to the limitless empty bottles everywhere (my guess is that the empty bottles are from all the forum mods :D ) 4) Safe zones - PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING THAT IS HOLY, SACRED AND SEXY; DO NOT HAVE THESE 5) Gun melee - Although this is highly unlikely to happen, it would be a pretty cool feature to be able to bonk somebody or a zombie with the butt of your gun. Just sayin'. 6) Craftables - This would be an awesome feature, but not with anything too abnormal. Maybe like crafting a shitty silencer for a pistol that only slightly reduced noise would be cool, but nothing like a Shishkebab from Fallout 3, as I personally believe it wouldn't fit into the world, or like the launcher in Fallout 3 (forgot the name) that launched any items. Too sci-fi/fantasy for DayZ imo. 7) Having to relieve yourself - Now, with DayZ trying to strike several realism factors, but only to a certain point, I have yet to play a game besides The Sims that had forced you to take bathroom breaks. After all those beans, I'm fairly sure you'll need to deal with the output of them. Unlikely feature, but worth mentioning. 8) Land mines - Searching through all of those military buildings, you'll surely come across a land mine sooner or later. If implemented, should be enormously rare. 9) Gore - Some of the weapons are pretty high-powered. Now, I know DayZ isn't necessarily shooting for the most realistic approach to everything, but with the weapons in the game, I'm surprised to not see a single finger just laying around somewhere. 10) Side chat - Just wondering if side chat is going to be available in the SA 11) Kevlar (or equivalent) - This was mentioned in a previous thread, and the hero perk already allows of this. TBH, there shouldn't be special perks for if you choose to be a hero or a bandit. That really seems to disrupt the atmosphere, but anyway, a Kevlar vest to completely prevent low-caliber weapons from damaging a player's chest would be amazing and add to the game. Implied rarity. 12) Bullet drop - Just hoping this stays with the SA. I love the bullet physics provided with the ArmA engine. 13) Damage direction indicator - Nothing too fancy, and nothing too obvious like with Halo, but when you're getting hit, you know what direction the hit came from just because of where you got hit at. If included, maybe just a small blip on the side of the screen to give an indication? 14) Stamina - Not the type of stamina that most people consider, but after running/walking around for a while, you would need a break. Forced walking to slowly regenerate stamina, or taking a small break to quickly restore stamina would add more atmosphere, albeit inconvenience, but when has DayZ been convenient and friendly? 15) Pre-order - Are pre-orders available? Just a few things I thought of over the past couple of days. It would be nice to get a main thread going so the board doesn't keep getting blown up with SA-related things.

  11. I searched the forums and after looking through 4 threads out of the many that I seen, I knew I'd never find the info I'm looking for by that nature. TL;DR sorry if this is a repost How does a heli crash site spawn into a server? I know they all get reset after a server resets, but right when the server starts back up, do they spawn? Or does a player need to be within a certain proximity in order to trigger a spawn (presumably adding to some variable that keeps track of the current number of sites and compares it to the maximum number of heli crashes that can appear in a server) ?
  12. I did not have any audio capture program open at the time they were speaking English, and I left the server before I was affected by any of their actions. What evidence would you have liked? A screen capture? That would have done nothing at all. Posting the names is all the info I have.
  13. Server: US 2075 Time: 7:48 AM EST The players go by the names of Owner /// Panda /// ang There are two players by the name of Owner currently in the game. I believe it was the one without the (2) next to his name. Owner started talking about using and possessing hacks in English, then was asking if ang was Korean. ang said yes, but said he/she does not have a mic. Then the player Panda started talking to Owner in Korean. I don't know Korean, but it seemed like a civil conversation, and the feel of the situation made it quite possible that Panda was inquiring about the hacks.
