Vision range in DayZ?

Searched the forums but I couldn't find any solid info.

I'm guessing it's locked at ~1500m but I'm not sure.

How far can you see in DayZ at the moment and is it the same on all servers?

I was wondering, too.

I can tell you for sure that I can see people and zombies up to 800 meters, at least.

That's the furthest I've ever had to snipe anyone from, though, so I don't know about larger distances.

Distance up to 1km is limited by mod "rules", it's normal.

as far as i know i think its about 1000m and that is with a scope ive shot someone with the m.107 at 930 somthing meters b4 and i could barely see him

That's server side setting and might be vary.

In ArmA 2 most of the servers doesn't have that limitation and you can set maximum view distance in your game settings. Maximum is 10km.
