Wind

Recommended Posts

I'd like to see in DayZ some wind implementation especially its already done in ARMA. Benefits are:

- makes newbie snipers life harder and increase authority of professionals.

- expand stealth possibilities of the gameplay. Increase or decrease voise detection of zombies depend of wind direction.

- expand other possibilities ingame, e.g. player will get infection more often from cold/wind. It makes Heatpacks/Fires more usable (now its trash loot).

I dont know if Wind is already in DayZ or what, but if it isnt;

DayZ servers are already at or OVER their capacity, adding in more things like this that need to be controlled by the server but dont make any major improvements to gameplaye are most likely not going to work.

Wind is implemented in DayZ, if you pop a smoke grenade, the smoke travels with the wind. But i guess it has no effect on bullets.

Realistic wind and sniping are part of ACE mod which is used on ArmA 2:CO Multiplayer. It affect to all weapons and beyond 400-500 meters makes shooting way more exciting and interesting. ACE also has a Kestrel, used by real military sniper personnel to calculate wind adjustments and other factors.

Yeah but this is not ACE, and Rocket can't realistically impose to everyone to use this huge insanely bloated mod, so if anything he will have to recreate this feature himself.

I am talking not about visual implementation of wind (like grenade smokes, threes) but about its logical implementation (balistics, environment).
