My First Newbie Kill in 30 Minutes

I don't know where I spawned, I think it was Elektro, I needed bandages so I searched for a hospital, I found a makarov, traded it with a revolver(good choice) when I did, I found the hospital, got the bandages and someone fucking spawns infront of me and my first reaction yes yeah... shoot him. He had a Winchester, blood packs, map and binoculars.

It said Friendly Fire in the chat bar

What have I done..?

I was on the receiving end of something similar... It was when I still thought heading towards Cherno/Elektro was a good way of surviving. I spawned, and quite quickly aggro'd a zed. I figured I would just sprint along the coast and take care of him later. To my surprise another player was in the area and asked if I needed help in chat. I was preoccupied with sprinting from the zed, so he assumed I needed the assistance and put a bullet in my skull. He began to drag me up the beach before I died, too.

I have always wondered whether he meant to kill me, or whether he was trying to take the shot and caught me instead...

Just remember, Everyone with a gun is a possible threat.

Avoid or Kill them. That's how you should play. You did the right thing taking him out.
