Laptop players? Your specs

Recommended Posts

Intel I7 960 (desktop version)

12GB Ram

2x AMD 6990HD

Yes, it's really a Laptop :)

Runs fine except the fps drops, which seems to be a server problem.

Dell Inspron N5110

Intel i5 2450m 2.5Ghz

Nvidia 525m

8GB Ram

Win 7 64Bit

1366x768 res

Low to normal gfx, no AA

25 fps in DayZ

30+ in Arma

For this game I would recommend atleast a laptop with a at least 1k passmark score for a 1080p resolution with Normal-High and AA (Mine falls short by a long way, and I can barely play at an acceptable level)

http://www.videocard...h_end_gpus.html

in $ your looking at spending.... ALLOT of money....

Which could be better spent on a desktop which would be a powerhouse in comparison.

If you REALLY want a laptop to play games on, go Alienware

I am running

Intel® Core™ i3 CPU M 380 @ 2.53GHz

6GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 315M 512MB

It runs at around 30FPS with tweaked normal settings. I was concerned about running the game before I purchased it too, so I downloaded the Arma II OA demo to double check :)

A fellow RV511 user, huh? :P

Downloading this game now, just thought I'd do a bit of research as I was worried about my card.. As long as I can play this 20fps @ super low, I care not :D

Alienware M17x

Intel Core i7-2820QM

1.5GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M

(cant remember my RAM. standard for the laptop is 8. but im at work and cant check)

I run it on mixed setting, visibility pretty high, AA low or off depending on server fps. shadows on normal. terrain and textures low or normal.

It actually runs normal ARMA better than DayZ... I've never fully understood why.

I got a ASUS G74SX-BBK9.

The specs are:

Intel i7-2670QM 2.20GHz

8GB RAM

1TB HDD

Nvidia GTX 560M 2GB Video

Not sure what my FPS is but I play DayZ on high havent tried in on very high yet. I havent noticed any lag at all, but I may not have the eye for it. Also play Skyrim on high or the highest setting with out lag even when spinning around a bit too. I believe this laptop will last me a rather long time before I replace it. Just a bit heavy with all the travel I do. And man i cant wait to get home and play.

low-normal detail, 30+ FPS

17" screen

1600x900 res

i5 2430m(2.4GHz-3GHz turbo)

8 GB RAM

1GB GeForce 555m

1TB HDD

does the job for most games

I get just playable on

i5 processor (though not sure what spec)

5400 rpm HD

4 GB 1066MHz DDR3-SDRAM

ATI MobilityRadeon HD5650 1GB

If you don't take the time to customise a good number of the settings, you're going to drop FPS all over the place. Things like changing anti-aliasing settings, even making changes to the config file(s).

There is an excellent GFX tweak guide here:

Im currently sitting with this http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Multimedia_Entertainment/N71Ja/#specifications since a few years back.

and settings on low/disabled.

Currently trying to outweight if stationary will be better thou for future (arma3), laptop is so much easier for lan-parties/vacations, but stationary WAY better/cheaper in long run.

Intel® Core i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz

4 Gig DDR3 RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M

2263 MB Total available graphics memory

It runs just fine for me on low-med settings, I am living abroad at the mo so a laptop is essential for me, thinking of building a gaming rig in the near future though.

Only problem I have is that I live in a hot country so in summer I have remover the battery and all removable panels and point a fan straight at it to keep it cool.

Yeah it runs perfectly fine once you get your settings down. I suggest that when you start the game, just run into a near by treeline and then mess with the settings until it's nice and smooth. I would also suggest this - http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/36688-maximize-frame-rate-on-dayz-and-arma2-low-frames-fix/

I Currently have an Acer Aspire 8920G, Nvidia Geoforce 9800m 512mb, 4gb, 1.6Hz,

Now I have not even bothered attempting to run Dayz on this. Can anyone recommend a good model of laptop as I have been disapointed with the Acer since day one.

I know i have to buy an "uber" Laptop for this to run at a decent rate.

HP Envy 14 Beats Edition, 8 gigs ram (upgraded from 6 gb), ATI Radeon 5650 (with slight overclock using MSI afterburner), Windows 7 OS. Handles DayZ no problem. Will even run BF3 smoothly on lowest settings.

I'm running an intel core i3-2310m 2.1ghz with 4gb ram.

I have an onboard card and I can still play with a bit of tweaking.

It's not pretty, but it's playable. :)

I used the info in this reddit to get things working

http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/wqx8q/getting_low_fps_try_this/

If I could afford a new laptop right now though, I would definitely consider one with a decent video card built in.

It would be worth it in more ways than just DayZ.
