Servers with map markers allowed?

I once played on a regular server which (after obtaining IG map) showed me my own location on map. Not only that, it allowed me to add marker on map (shift+left mouse click) so that it showed me the distance between my location and the target location I want to go at. Like it showed the marker to that location and 400 meters for example. Which servers allow that? I have played on several other regular servers and it doesn't seem to work anymore. I don't remember the server where I had initially tried this and it had worked. :/ a bit help please.

I'm not sure but I think it's something to do with the updates, not the servers.

It's a server ( difficulty ) setting. The first must have been set to either novice or regular and the latter is markers afaik. Some don't allow it so you have to use your compass and navigation skills.

I think I don't have a compass right now. Is that it? I mean I might need compass to add that marker? Not sure. Could be it.

Nvm. It didn't work with the compass even. :/
