Mushee 0 Posted July 13, 2012 Alright, well, all dicks aside...Most people don't make significant strides in skill or ability without months or years of constant effort. Knowledge and tactics, however, can be learned comparatively quickly. The ability to do the right thing at the right time is often far more telling of skill than base physical conditioning. It is also far more powerful. You will inevitably gain it from having the ability to respawn.I mean, sure, you need physical conditioning and every bit counts, but Arma2-man really is pretty close to the human peak, and has a number of things that make him borderline transhuman.I agree with what your saying there and i love the current state of the game because it reqires that little more more skill then most other games out there. If you get into a bad spot in game like pissed of to many zombies stalked by a player random car driving past honking there horn break your legs bleeding need food its all random and adds to the fun of the game. And i love that about dayZ but if you just got that little bit of an extra reward nothing super game changing and over powered i just think it could add something extra in the goal of stay alive and acheiveing somthing more. Somepants 3 Posted July 13, 2012 Ahh...well, the nature of extra bits that I've found is that inevitably the extra bits become either required, or wasted development time. They're useful, or they aren't. If they are, they're mandatory. If they aren't, they go completely ignored. If they're mandatory, it's just one more thing you need to grind to be relevant.I'm sure people do look at the scoreboards and go "dang how'd that guy kill 500 zombies" though. So there's always that bonus for doing it.
Whattteva 32 Posted July 13, 2012 I'll take a stab at agreeing/disagreeing.1.Faster reloadI suppose this one can't hurt. I mean most PvP skirmishes are resolved without reloading in the first place, so reloading faster a split second faster hardly make any difference.2.slightly faster sprintThis can't hurt either. It would make traveling the huge map more bearable.3.13k bloodThis can have serious implications cause there could be cases where having an extra 1k blood is the difference between surviving or dying. I'm neutral on this, so no vote. I'm okay either way whether they implement it or not.4. If killer by player and you have a special type of bade in your bag it blows it up when opened.I'd have to vote no on this. I mean having stuff blow up in your face after you kill him is quite a nasty surprise.5.bigger vault to get over barbed wire and such.Another no, they exist specifically to prevent people from getting through. Vaulting is an exploit. I mean seriously, would you really vault a C-wire and risk getting your ass messed up? Especially, since medical supplies are supposed to be a rarity in this desolate world.6.jerry cans hold more fuel. Not sure about this one. The biggest impact this would contribute to would be helicopter fueling, which I have yet to experience. So no vote here. I don't know enough to make a judgment.7.makes the fog say 1km further. No, this gives way too much advantage. 1km is a long distance.8.can use a blood bag on yourself.I suppose this is reasonable, but this would also promote solo play even more. And we already have enough people complaining about how hard it is to make friends. So... uh.... this one is a tough one. I'd go with a selfish choice and say no, cause I generally always play with 1 or 2 other people. B) Hey, even I like to be selfish at times.9.check back for booby trap so there is a counter to the exploding backpacks.Since I voted no for 4, I'd have to do the same here.There. How is that? good enough for you?
OW22 21 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) Level up, you say? Here's my point of view. You are in a zombie apocalypse. Or maybe post-zombie apocalypse. You don't have much ammo or maybe a gun at all, and you've barely had any experience with it regardless. You are a civilian. When zombies run up to you, they should look terrifying. They should make you want to turn and run. In fact, you often want question yourself if you aren't killing your fellow man. Seeing these things are horrific, with their rotting bodies and their blood curdling growls. You live in fear, shooting humans out of fear that they may not be your friend, and hiding in corners at the slightest sound, afraid the undead have found you. Supplies are low, your hungry, thirsty, sleep deprived, and scared. If anything, your insanity should level up.Don't you hear your character huffing and hyperventilating when he kills some zombies? He is SCARED, not hurt. Sure, you'd get better in real life, but very slowly, not to mention your condition is really bad already.I'm not trying to be all "a-duh it's completely unrealistic a-duh" and I'm not trying to insult you. It's just that a lot of people are all about killing things and forget about the consequences. It takes a toll. So if you want to go "realistic" that way, you have to go both ways, and that just won't be fun. Edited July 13, 2012 by OW22
Mushee 0 Posted July 13, 2012 Cheers whattteva. Would you suggest anything if a system like this was implemented?
HalloweeNGT 23 Posted July 13, 2012 All he's doing is voicing his opinions that looks like it doesn't fit your vision of happy land and you have to start acting so immature?Seriously, how old are you?I'm not saying I agree with it (honestly, I didn't even read the OP... was too long, I was too lazy to read, lol). But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.Im probably older than you, older enough to see how stupid it is and how this game would fall into a totally ruined senseless game. Vort3x 22 Posted July 13, 2012 Really liked that idea, people that come in and just say no, probably just read the title..Anyways, i myself never used a gun, so it would take a few more seconds to reload than someone with skill. Would be a valid change. But let me say here, should not be levels, don't want this turning into something like WoW.Should be something linked to achievments maybe, if you reload 10 or so times, you get a little boost on reloading speed, once you hit 30 reloads a little bit more, and on it goes.Of course when you die, you lose it all. And having a proper limit where it doesn't get any faster. However this things will only work for the standalone version, since arma 2 engine does provide us much.Good idea thoughVortex.
Mushee 0 Posted July 13, 2012 Maybe i should of called the post "Rewards for staying alive" lol

Mushee 0 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) Vort3x i defo agree with you i like that idea. The more you do/use something should increase your skills in doing so. This is a realistic simulator as eveyone says and i mean thats how it goes IRL. So i dont really see something like this really impacting to hard on the game.I mean how it is now you die and you lose your gun, gear, food etc. if you have a camp hidden away with goodies basicly your right back to where you were. But if you were to say reload 30 times have the sliglty faster reaload time and you die you cant instantly go abck and get it again its something that again needs to take time to develop so there is more of a penality to being killed.Edit: Or reason to stay alive.
