Not running the latest version of the Dayz Beta/Patch. Update and it'll work just fine.

Players with this issue, all you can do is find an up to date server.

My Six Luncher just updated something, and now im either stuck at "waiting for host" or fading screen - and the fading screen is at a coast with a new character ...

I am updated as of 7/13 to 94876 and cannot play on my regular server as it is still 94444. Servers that are listed as 94876 that I can access give me no audio and split second flash of game in between several seconds of darkness. I have no debug monitor window but the rest of the hud is there. This is on several "updated" servers that are populated.

The servers are needing to be updated, as in, if you search for 1.7.2.2 AND have the version 94876, then it will work... Unfortunately all the servers that are up to date are full...

I tried a bunch of servers and the ones I got into all had 1.7.2.2 in their description but had the faded black screen.

I could access inventory, but only see every 10 seconds or so for a split second.

There were also a bunch of 1.7.2.2 servers on the list, but I couldn't join them because 90% were full.

I hate patch days. :P

i've left my beta patch to 94700 for 1.7.2.1..but ill prolly have to update
