RedemptiionZz (DayZ) 2 Posted July 13, 2012 Hi I'm new to DayZ but I was just wondering what the best loadout would be for running around I've managed to find myself a lee enfield a makarov and a alice bag, I have no idea how I should stock up my inventory and bag so I just wanted to ask for for a rough idea, cheers Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I personally have 2 of most medical supplies on me, 4 bandages, preferred sidearm m1911, primairy weapon just the best I can find really, and 2 food/drink I usually keep on me. But like I said, it really depends on the situation.EDIT: Some easy to find primairy weapons are Lee Enflied/AK's/AKM/Winchester... FDFj 28 Posted July 13, 2012 There isn't any "cookie cutter loadout"It all depends mainly from your playstyle. Get water bottle and hunting knife/matches/hatchet and you are pretty self sustained from the ration side.. If you roam alone I suggest finding a silenced weapon since you will attract a lot of zeds and many players if you run around shooting anything that moves. RedemptiionZz (DayZ) 2 Posted July 13, 2012 Ok Thanks i didnt want to stock up wrong I mean atm i have around 8 bandages 4-5 cans of drink and 3-4 cans of food i havent even been to a hospital yet so thats my next stop, and ive just found a m1014 shotgun on a dead body soo im debating to keep it for now in my bag or just drop it :/ Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Do I like walking into towns or do I avoid them as much as possible and if so what kind of environment do I play in?Personally if I have a hatchet, matches and a hunting knife I don't even bother carrying more than one piece of food around either. Since a couple of patches ago (I don't recall which one), animals are spotted a lot more frequent so you can sustain yourself off them easily. For drinking it's always nice to choose canteens over soda cans for obvious reasons. If you are a complete lone wolf and don't interact with anyone in whatever circumstance it's probably useless to carry around bloodbags and epi-pens aswell. Pick up or discard equipment as u get it and as you see fit.If ur online with a buddy or two I'd switch out the hatchet (let someone else do it) because as much as I like the hatchet and its duo-functionality nothing feels (or looks) better in your hands than an assault rifle. DoshDosh 62 Posted July 13, 2012 I try to visit the hospital upon spawn and get at least 2 bandages, 2 morphine and 2 painkillers. Once that's done, I'll get matches/hatchet/knife/water bottle for thirst and hunger. Anything else, like maps/compass/watch/GPS/military flashlight/range finder are all luxuries to me, but ones that can be found pretty quickly with a few supermarket raids.For weapons, if I want to focus on PVP in a particular life/run, I'll try to find a sniper rifle or lee-enfield. DopeGirl 6 Posted July 13, 2012 If you've got a friend with you, then definitely some bloodbags, Morphines (Which you can use yourself ofc) some drinks, can's of food. Some gun, and some silent melee weapon, if not silenced pistol or some other weapon. And ofcourse bandages. Alice pack definitely is best backpack in my opinion to have.
