suggestion against "alt+4"er and server hopper

Hey,

Iim pretty sick of ppl who instantly disconnect when they have no chance to kill you, or who log out at looting places and hop around on servers.

My suggestion is to have 10 seconds countdown before the body disapears from the server and if you log in you shouldnt be able to shoot for 10 seconds!

Why?

First suggestion is for the disconnecters! This is a game and dieing is part of it! If the body stays for 10 seconds on the server ppl are still able to kill him.

The second suggestion is for server hoppers. This idea in combination with the first one , forces the player to log out at places where ppl usualy dont walk around. If you log out in the city you may die when you log in, if you log out somewhere far away from any population you should be fine on map with 200km² and max of 50 players.

Sry for my bad english. Im from Germany ;)

If this idea combination got already discussed pls close this thread and burn it to hell!

oh sorry, im not that active in the forum :( , just wondered when there are thousand of threads nothing got changed in the new patch... Is there any overall statement from the devs? Like "cant do this with the code" or somthing

Your solution does not cover me pulling the internet socket out of the wall.

Rocket has said the solution to this is "easy", but knowing when to enforce it properly is hard. As sometimes people simply just loose connection for wahtever reason. And no I actually dont pull the plug on my internet, but the point is that the system wont know the difference

Why does my solution not covers you pulling out the internet socket, if your character has to stay for 10 seconds on the server like there would be a "real-time-copy" of you character. But if Rocket alrdy did a statment to this, this topic can be closed.

You can't have a copy of the client when the client is gone. You might have to change the netcode so the avatar still stays, for now it's DC and you are gone. The only way to solve this is either adding a cooldown timer so ppl can't reconnect until f.e. 10 minutes are over or having them wait a couple of seconds with a black screen on reconnect so if they happen to DC in an infested area or a player stumbles over them while they are waiting to "see " again they are toast, but this solution needs some Z to stay after the aggored player left to take effect. Also having the character die when he is wounded on DC is a solution.

I log out in cities all the time ...especially if i find a roof building with ladders.

But yes ....If someone disconnects/alt+f4 then the server should leave a "clone" behind for like 20-30 secs that can take aggro and take damage. If the clones dies ..the player will connect to find out that he must respawn.

Usually players will make sure there in a safe spot to disconnect (legit) so leaving a clone to stay behind for a further 20-30 secs in that safe spot shouldnt be a problem and players cant complain.

Ofc you will get those who get disconnected due to lossing connection ...but they should just deal with it like every other game.

exactly, but 20-30 seconds is too long imo, count it and you will see it, in 20-30seconds im running trough whole cherno :D

but it seems this clone idea doesnt work :/

I like when people dont use search and create another thread about disconnectors cuz this shit is game breaking and should be a priority.

best idea yet is if you are bleeding and below 9000 health you die on DC. i think that is fair - it only penalises people with no bandages who have escaped and have to answer phone/door, so the majority of the player base will not be penalised unfairly, but it'll hugely stop the classic 'i've been shot but i'm not dead alt-f4 alt-f4' players.
