Survival: The ability to refill water bottles when it rains

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I thought about this for so time: when it rains we get a chance to refill our water bottles.. however to make it more realistic and challenging we can only fill the water in increments.

Depending on the magnitude of the rainstorm, the quicker or slower we can refill our water bottles.

ex. heavy rainstorms taking 10 min to refill while a little drizzle will take hours.

Just a thought; I like how Rocket is aiming to make this game immersible and I hope this idea could lead to something unique.

UPDATE:

A good way to funnel the scattered raindrops. Rocket in later updates could add something like this, and that we would have to scavange for the supplies to build this contraption.

Not a bad idea at all, but I think it's a higher priority to let us drink from water sources with or without a bottle.

I appreciate that there's a ton of posts in this suggestion thread but...

This has already been suggested at least a dozen times.

Fun idea for you kids, get an empty water bottle (has to be 1ltr) and the next time it rains, put it outside and see how much water you collect in it.

Seriously, try it.

People have been drinking rain water using various methods for thousands upon thousands of years.

Zero points for aversionfx, and ten points for L33tmoaf. He knows what I'm getting at. You would need a funnel or like what's in the video, a sheet in order to help capture the rain into the small neck of the bottle otherwise you would gather next to nothing unless it's been raining for an exceptionally long time.

Agree. Not possible without a funnel of some kind

Here's a couple of posts I dug out of the most recent entries. The suggestion is covered in one form or another..

http://dayzmod.com/f...-fill-canteens/

http://dayzmod.com/f...7-rain-refills/

http://dayzmod.com/f...ttle-with-rain/

And though not specifically based on rainwater, here's a link to my own post on hydration

It all depends how much water you want. Also there are already numerous "natural" water channels all over chernarus. Building gutters, tree leaves and so on.
