server restart --> character rollback?

So this is the second time I've been on server when it restarted. I was disconnected and upon rejoining I'm at a previous location with previous gear.

Is this a known problem?

Im not sure mate, but i've also been caught in two server restarts since 1.7.2 that has rolled me back to a previous time (equipment/vitals) and also put me back on the beach. I heard it was a server issue but now that i read this, im not so sure.

Yup I have the same issue, its had happened more than 5x already. I lose connection, join new server and lose all my progress or spawn at the beach, very annoying but I understand its also a Alpha build.
