Switching Item, and having it disappear as if it never existed

Date/Time: May 17th 2012 ; 7:00 PST (and a couple other times)

What happened:Chose to swap weapon and the weapon on the ground was picked up, but when i went to change it back the weapon i orignally had disappeared along with several other ammunition for other guns disappeared from ground and main inventory.

What you were doing: Checking out a shotgun to see if i wanted it, and swaped it for my M4A1.

*Timeline of events before/after error: started in Komyshovo. Walked to Stary Sobor, met up with teamate. went to loot the army base. And then bug occured, after server crashed about an hour later while we went back to loot army base again in search of another M4A1 for a silenced weapon.

Yeah.. Lost one flashlight and one handgun yesterday by this really annoying bug...

I can verify, this is what happens to me too.

If you have a primary weapon equipped and pickup a new primary weapon (and Ammo) it will destroy your original primary weapon and any primary ammo not in your backpack.

If you try to move your primary weapon (equipped) to your backpack and there isn't enough room it will disappear as well.

The work around is to drop your primary weapon on the ground then loot the new one.

I think the same bugged mechanic works for back packs too. If you don't drop your current backpack on the ground before picking up a new one it may disappear. I haven't verified this but I have been warned.

Yes. how i get around it is by instad of just replacing the original object. going into gear and droping it first and pick up the other one after, which doesnt make it disappear
