Super Zombie on Survivor Death

Recommended Posts

I think it would be awesome if player corpses had an 80% chance to turn into "fresh zombies" after 5 minutes. Why 5 minutes? To give people enough time to loot their kill of course! I think you shouldn't be able to hide bodies though.

Fresh zombies are much more powerful than normal zombies. They have more life than an actual player, have a higher chance to break bones and knock players out, and do more damage. They wander in a 1 km radius from where they died and never despawn(maybe even save through restarts!) until killed. When the fresh zombies spawn, they will drop all items except the backpack. Any items inside the backpack are also saved and can be looted when the zombie dies.

With this update, popular areas will be even scarier. Even the forests around those areas are dangerous, as they are infested with wandering fresh zombies. The zombies do not use a players internet and will not despawn when they abort. Also, their model has the backpack they carry so they are easy to identify.

EDIT: the more PvP, the more angry zombies :D

Also, players that kill these zombies might find good things on the corpses(since they carry player bags with items in them). So it's not pointless to kill them.

Additional ideas:

Random Reanimation timer- Makes looting scary D: 20s-10 min random

Fresh Zombie Warlord- The blood of fresh zombies attracts(or spawns) other zombies, causing a small zombie horde to slowly accumulate and chill with the fresh zombie. This horde is the pinnacle of PvE and pose the greatest threat to survivors on Chenarus. These hordes can wander outside of their cities but cannot be formed in the middle of the forest, should a fresh zombie be there. If a fresh zombie dies, the other zombies will despawn after they lose or kill their targets. Fresh zombies will not form hordes with other fresh zombies, but they may roam in the same area and multiple hordes may attack the same targets.

What about when a survivor dies through respawn? There'd be countless "super-zombies" wandering the coastline that would completely demolish new players. (Especially in Kamenka, hahaha.)

I like the idea, though some parts are impractical such as saving through server restarts, never despawning, etc. The notion is very The Walking Dead-esque, with the implication that every survivor is infected regardless of contact with the undead and will eventually become a zombie. There would have to be a lot of fine-tuning on all of the little nuances for this to be possible, especially considering the conditions under which a survivor's corpse will turn into a "super-zombie."

(I'm glad that this idea makes the super-zombies NPC-controlled though. I get tired of seeing people ask to play as zombies in the game.)

It's a general idea of course. I'll let the developers figure out the details.

There would be an enormous amount of zombies due to pvp related problems...

Take it easy or get overcome by your fellow survivor's vengeful corpses.

You could make the re animation time variable from .5-15 minutes to put some stress into looting PVP victims. Nothing like have Nooby McNoob reanimate and take a bite out of you as you are taking his single can of pasta.

Haha good idea xD it would definitely make players think twice before going up to corpses. Maybe 25 seconds as a minimum and 10 minutes as a maximum. 15 minutes is kinda too much I think. Unless it's not linear and most zombies spawn in the first 3 minutes even though the middle number is 7.
