Amazon version of the arma2OA

I have followed all the steps in this guide:

and I even have the little @DayZ symbol under the Arma2 symbol in the top left but for some reason I cannot for the life of me join servers. I have tried joining over 20 different servers from a ping of 40 to 2300(thought it might be a bug) and nothing works. I have the amazon version of the game. Also my internet speed pretty good so it can't be that.

Any help would be amazing thanks.

You'll have to be more descriptive. What exactly is the problem? Any errors? Any reason you can't join them?

It literally just says cannot connect to the server.

Update:I just reopened it and it says,"No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles/Citizen1.scope'"

Again any help would be awesome.

Make sure you installed both Arma 2 and OA, as well as the 1.60 patch. My friend and I both jumped on the Amazon deal and the only issue we've had is when he forgot his 1.60 patch.

Had the same error. You probably installed ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 OA in different folders. If you did, just copy-paste OA into arma 2

I have two additional pieces of advice.

1) Load and run all versions of the game normally, just load into the first mission. Single player is fine here.

2) Ignore most of the error messages. :) I still get glasses/cb_main/misc error messages all the time and I still seem to play just fine.

So another update. I have tried combining the files as DoubleD said but it did not work. I have tried running both the games normally and it did not change anything. Darkshine I updated which I needed to do either way but now it still has the error from before but now I can actually join servers but I get kicked for having a 'modified data file'.

Again, any help would be appreciated.

Is what you are getting saying exactly this: "Waiting for server response" ? If yes, then that's just server load, you need to simply wait or try during a different try when less people are playing.

Specifically for the Amazon.com version

1. If you already installed Arma 2 and OA in different directories, you need to uninstall both copies.

2. Re-install Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead into the same directory

3. Apply the 1.60 Combinned Operations patch:

Use this thread. Specifically the last post on the first page because that's what did it for me. But if that doesn't work for your friend try the other suggestions.

Fecal, it's not my game, I'm just a user trying to help people, and I was the one who posted the fix so I'm not sure what you're talking about. The "tool" is what I posted at the bottom of the first page of this thread and also here:
