DayZ on New Maps (When?)

Does anyone know when servers are allowed to run new maps on DayZ? There are so many awesome maps, built-in and on Armaholic, and would be very fun to try out some new ones :)

I could even see a map building community growing around DayZ rebuilding real life metropolitan areas, or suburban, USA. Wouldn't that be amazing?? Small Town, USA, complete with suburban tract housing, strip malls, real malls, parks, etc...

My mind is reeling with ideas!!

Hey drewmaw,

Rocket actually stated in an informal interview that he wants to expand DayZ to more maps in the near future; so your dreams are not far off :P.

To add to that, Rocket said that it isn't hard to implement DayZ on other maps. During Rezzed, he actually had DayZ on Utes island during the interview.

He spoke about it at rezzed. He wanted to go for 500km^2 or something. It surely would be fun. I'd love to have an urban landscape or even an archipelago.

DayZ in Fallujah would be pretty cool considering how urban it is. Clafghan would also be fun though I image it would be terrible for the noobs since the micro-terrain makes landnav quite difficult.

Personally I would love to see towns be more dense and larger.

I didn't even know I was in Cherno the first few times I was there based on the description people gave me about the place.

I really expected there to be more buildings, for it to be more dense, and I had some idea of multistoried building to building PVP combat based on what people were saying about it.
