MaxPing issues - anyone else?

Recommended Posts

Our server was set to MaxPing 200 originally, to test this out. Since then I have tried to increase it but after a scheduled daily restart it always sets back to 200, regardless of my new settings. I even removed the MaxPing line completely. Only way to change it after a restart is via BERCon. Anyone familiar with this, also getting this, or know a fix? It's like the beserver.cfg file is cached or something and can't change.

Same here. Im with Vilayer and can't set the maxping to another value than the default one of 150. I tried setting it to 200 and it doesn't change. Each time I log into the server through Arma Rcon I see it is still set at 150. If I change it within Rcon it will change, but as you allready said, it will set back to the default value after a restart.

So, Yes I am familiar with it, but I don't know how to fix it. Would like to know it also, as I think a maxping of 150 is too low.

You have the be config file set as follows?

Rconpassword xxxxxxxxx

Maxping 200

Not sure what file you are changing. I am with HFB and the file that I change is the beserver.cfg file located in cfgdayz/BattlEye directory. Originally when I got the server it didn't have the beserver.cfg file so I had to create one. At some time the server created a second one so you might want to check to make sure you don't have a duplicate one as well.

Im sure you already know this but it should be the same file where you set your RCon password.

Good luck

Yep (Mine says 150 instead of 200)

If I change it to 200, it will save. But when I log into the server through Arma Rcon and chech the BE config it 's still at 150?

Now if I change/adjust it from within Rcon it will adjust it. But after a restart it will go back to it's original value.

It's like I am not allowed to change it, dunno.

it might be read only when the server is running. Have you tried killing the server then changing the value in the beserver.cfg file, then restarting the server ?

Think I figured it out. I'm also with HFB. There were 2 files in the cfgdayz/BattlEye folder: beserver.cfg (the one I was changing, with the server down) and BEServer_active_xxxx.cfg (xxxx being a random hex value I guess). Anyway, the _active_xxxx seems to be the one that is being loaded and thus needs to change or be deleted so there is only a beserver.cfg. Hope that helps.
