PinkTaco (DayZ) 2 Posted May 17, 2012 Several people got kicked (without any warning) because they give priority to people on teamspeak. Obviously this is a work around to be able to get clan members in. We pointed out its against the rules and copy-pasted the server rules but they said they can do what they like since they pay for the server.Right after I pasted the server rules from this forum I got kicked.Total bullshit, please close server down.Apparently the guy claims to know Rocket and therefor he thinks he can do as he likes. c.chris.perry@gmail.com 17 Posted May 17, 2012 If a clan pays for a server, I feel like they should be able to kick people for the clan mates to get on. Or at least allow for reserve slots...
PinkTaco (DayZ) 2 Posted May 17, 2012 They where kicked due to there High ping' date=' you on the otherhand was kicked for beeing rude.[/quote']I said nothing at all, I only pasted the the server rules and got kicked right after. Maybe someone else was rude no idea.Feel free to claim something else but you will only make a fool of yourself when my friend post the screenshot of the entire conversation and you see youre wrong. If a clan pays for a server' date=' I feel like they should be able to kick people for the clan mates to get on. Or at least allow for reserve slots...[/quote']Yes I actually think the same but now this isnt the case, its against the rules and systematically kicking like this should result in server shut down immediately. r. jorgensen 11 Posted May 17, 2012 Oh well, I wasent the admin that kicked you, all I saw was 2 guys beeing rude. Also I said I know Rocket, not that i can do what ever the fuck i want. Also, I don't really think they can say we cant kick people for clanmate or friends, We pay for our server, they don't. If they did'nt have a shortage of server, i would be cool with it, but now, where they despartly need server, they cant really digtate how we sould run our server. To get access to the DayZ database you must follow the rules. Pretty simple I guess but some people seem to struggle with these very clear and simple rules. PinkTaco (DayZ) 2 Posted May 17, 2012 All that the screens show is Taco beeing kicked for beeing a dick.Im not surpriced youre lying since you think its cool to break rules also. There was a discussion between people about the rules so I simply posted them, that was all. Maybe the caps was offensive to someone since I pasted straight from forum and the rules are written in caps.
Lady Kyrah 1110 Posted May 17, 2012 Running a dayZ server is a privilege, not a right and it comes with rules even "admins" have to follow.
The Angry German 1 Posted May 18, 2012 I'm the admin that did the kicking(not banning, for clarification). First off, everyone had a fair chance to not get kicked. We offered numerous times for people to join our Teamspeak (whether or not they had microphones), and I told everyone that whoever was in it got reserved slots. Arma is a military simulator, every Arma veteran has Teamspeak, and most clans/servers require it. If you've owned Arma for more than two weeks you know that. You don't play it without a way to communicate.I did not kick anyone in any random order. I kicked those with the highest pings 170 and up. And did my best to avoid those active in side/global chat. If you want to accuse someone do it to whoever decided to make the game realtime. We suffer with the lag caused by people from other regions of the world.Tier, another player in the game respectfully asked everyone to calm down after the three, currently complaining in this forum, began to tell us how to run our server. I then removed them for being disrespectful and disrupting the server. We pay $60 dollars a month out of our own pockets (servers are provided by individuals, on arma no corporation provides them for us) to provide this server to a cooperative public. We have many friends/clan members that enjoy Arma's community and gameplay. I will not have COD/BF3 players, who buy into endless advertisement, coming onto our server and making demands of me and my clanmates.I understand we must obey DayZ's rules, but unless DayZ wishes to pay for my server for me, then I dictate how much crap I'm willing to take. These players spends 2-3 hours on our server, our clanmates will be spending the rest of their Arma career making it a funner community. Who am I supposed to choose?

The Angry German 1 Posted May 18, 2012 Total bullshit' date=' please close server down.[img']http://i.imgur.com/DwVXC.jpgDo you "shamelessly" make demands of everyone you meet? You demand they close my server, what does that even mean? Our server is packed everyday. Lets say people play for about 3 hours at a time. 24hours a day / 3 hours played = 8. 8 intervals * 32 max server pop = 256 people a day. So thats 256 people less that will be able to play.If you're complaining about not being able to play for being disrespectful, what makes you think you'll have an easier time getting into a server after you shut us all down with your righteous fury of the heavens? On a side note, beside for my actual statement none of these picture prove you have been kicked by an admin at all. If you've been playing arma at all before this mod's release, you would know the server/battle-eye could have kicked you automatically.
uk_dayz_player 3 Posted May 18, 2012 in the future dayz staff won't be able to tell anyone how to maintain servers. The community will keep this mod running on out of pocket expenses, not rocket, not mr joe public and certainly no company.Rocket in the end will have to allow people to kick for mates, locked servers etc etc, it's the only way it will ever last unless dayz mod wants to pay for all servers in the future, because with out the servers there is nothing, you can't play. All the community servers will just have to rely on the fact if rocket will continue to dev this mod.End of the day it's not a crime to get kicked, our ping limit is 175... people already report us for that lol. There are tonnes of other servers, just move on, it's no big deal god man, grow up.Ok so it's in alpha and rocket and his team need to collect data from a bigger number of players on servers, but all this snitching and bitching will have to end when he releases somesort of version 1. NonToxic 0 Posted May 18, 2012 I signed up exclusively because your entitled attitudes really irritate me!BEWARE - The same restrictions apply to Non-Dev run servers!- IT MAY NEVER BE PASSWORDED- NO EXCESS KEYS OR MODS- NO KICKING TO MAKE ROOM FOR 'FRIENDS' OR CLANMATES- IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO UPDATE YOUR SERVER TO THE LATEST VERSION OF DAYZI'm curious, what part of that says "exceptions are made for people paying out of pocket"? I must have missed the "these rules don't apply if the player doesn't have teamspeak" amendment. Why do you think you're special? Every other server admin is (presumably, they don't have threads made here calling them out) following these rules and paying out of pocket too. Where do you get off? uk_dayz_player 3 Posted May 18, 2012 Sorry dude i've rented and owned servers for the past 10 years for various games i have never come across a community that whines and moans so much over someone kicking someone, it's just pathetic.Mummy that boy pushed me over, wah wah wah essentially. It's not my server he is talkin about but heres something you need to learn, mods are only as popular as the community makes it, the more people alienate admins who pay for the servers the less servers will be created which means you'll end up looking at a dayz screen and not being able to play.If no-one buys servers, how do you play?Just find other servers if you got kicked, NO BIG DEAL omg man, jeez. Why hassle and stress over trivial things... much more important things in dayz to do first.I am pointing out that people need to chill out, it's a game man!In the end when this mod hype is over and all the casuals leave it in the dust, these people will still be playing..paying for servers, dayz can't maintain these sort of strict rules as a viable avenue in the future, it will kill it off.You could always support the community and buy your own too if you are unhappy? NonToxic 0 Posted May 18, 2012 Rules are rules, no matter how many horns you've tooted. Since the game is currently in RAPID EXPANSION, the idea that making you follow the rules you signed on for will kill the community holds no water. Perhaps when you're the only game in town you can run your server how you like, but that is not the case, you are currently expendable.
dallas 5195 Posted May 18, 2012 Kicking players to make room for friends or people with teamspeak, is hardly supporting the community.
SixPackAbs 13 Posted May 18, 2012 Lol at server providers getting all high and mightyJust because you pay for the server does not mean you get to do whatever. Also if you are doing it with no warning....wtf
The Angry German 1 Posted May 18, 2012 uk_dayz_player, everything you say is the honest truth. You basically summed it up. Dayz may run the servers for stats, and they may let us connect to those servers, which I'm glad they provide those services, but it goes both ways. This hype would not exist if there weren't servers to play on.The ones that offered up their servers are the ones that will still be playing in a year from now. Pissing off server owners is the fastest way to kill your mod. In reply to NonToxic; What am I supposed to tell my clan-mates? To go fuck off? Why should I not have the right to play a game on my own server with my friends? It's not like I'm kicking everyone off. I'm opening a slot for a buddy. You can't tell me the DayZ devs don't do the same for their friends. If DayZ devs want to show up in my Teamspeak and tell me the guy that bought Arma two days ago (who would not be playing multiplayer at all if it weren't for people like me) has more say over my server than I do, then I'll be happy to drop DayZ. I'll go back to running a Life mod, were I am afforded some autonomy on my property. If you start seriously enforcing this rule, to where admins can't kick unruly/highpinged individuals, and opt to play with their friends like any developer incorporates into their game, you will see server owners and clans dropping your mod.Anyway thats all I have to say about that. End of discussion for me.
dallas 5195 Posted May 18, 2012 "NO KICKING TO MAKE ROOM FOR 'FRIENDS' OR CLANMATES"Instead of them having to join your teamspeak channel to tell you the rules, couldn't you just read the rules?
oilman 72 Posted May 18, 2012 Server providers are still required to follow the rules. Rocket has said so repeatedly.Leaving this thread up, despite the low quality of posts (from both sides) so a dev can see it.I highly advise Chicago 9 to stop kicking players.
