Version confusion, wrong files and strange version numbers

I have installed the latest client (1.7.2) but when connecting to SE3 it says "wrong version". It seems SE3 has version 1.7.2.1?????

- There is nothing on the forums, no announcement about 1.7.2.1.

- The SE and US mirrors have version 1.7.2 available for download.

- The UK mirror has old files (a month old!)

- The FR mirror is down.

Apart from this, there is also the problem with inconsistent versioning system:

After 1.7.2 there should be 1.7.3, not 1.7.2.1.

If it was named 1.7.2.0 then 1.7.2.1 would be appropriate.

This confusion also makes it impossible to filter correctly in the server list, because when searching for 1.7.2 you also get 1.7.2.1 (and possibly 1.7.2.1.3.4.1.whatever in the future).

The client version is still 1.7.2; there was just a small hotfix released to server owners, which was actually a downgrade to an earlier version for a single .pbo file to fix a loading bug. Sorry, but what does SE3 stand for?

SE3 is the server i was trying to connect to.

The error message which sits in the middle on the screen all the time says that i have an old version of dayz_code and need to upgrade to 1.7.2.1. Which is obviously impossible...

Something wrong with the server hotfix then?

The screen fades to black and it says i should go to dayzmod.ocm/download to get version 1.7.2.1, but no such version exists... :(

What to do now??

it is because alot of server hosts are morons xD and they update the server name but not the server version correctly, so its still running 1.7.5 and that ofc confuses you when you are running the newest version

No, that's absolutely not the case.

1. Servers that has been running 1.7.2 was working perfectly, now some of them are upgraded to 1.7.2.1 and does not work with the 1.7.2 client anymore.

2. Server names says 1.7.2.1 and when loading and in game, it says something like "You are running 1.7.2 and the server is running 1.7.2.1, update your client". So it is not simply the server name which is wrong. Sometimes it says that "days_code" is the wrong version.

I did search for it, was looking in the announcement section and lots of other places. The thread about 1.7.2.1 did not exist at that time. Yes, i see now that the timestamp is 20 minutes before my post, but nonetheless it did not show up when i searched for it at around 02:00 am (forum time)...
