wartzilla 182 Posted July 10, 2012 I realize this is because of how ArmA II handles ammunition and therefore might be a long time off, but still. The magazine that is loaded in your actual gun needs to stop showing up in the pistol belt or inventory grid. It's *in the gun*, it makes no sense that it takes up inventory space. Not only would this save us one slot on the pistol belt and the main inventory, but it would make a heck of a lot more sense.
cayote 4 Posted July 10, 2012 That's a pretty good idea!
Gustav Mahler 40 Posted July 11, 2012 I think its irrelevant whether it shows up in the inventory or not, thats just the way Arma works. What matters is how many you can carry. If it didn't show up, you may well have one less slot to account for that.

I hate to add complexity but IRL you have to manually load rounds into mags, the ability to keep half empty mags and consolidate the rounds to get full mags would be neat, and realisticEDIT: perhaps a single mag only slot next to the gun, so we can see there's a mag in the gun and how much ammo it has from the G menu. IMO the ammo counter on the HUD should be removed, you don't get an ammo counter in real life. Just learn to count Edited July 11, 2012 by TimTams

It could be added similar to the 'repair' and 'make fire' functions -- just perform the generic 'doing stuff' animation with a nice sound of rounds being tacked into a mag one by one.The actual coding might be difficult, but I don't know anything about that stuff. :P
