Hidden Stash

Recommended Posts

Allow players to carry an empty backpack into their inventory (these are not so hard to find as is). The back pack can be hidden and used for storing some gear and holds as much gear as the back pack would normally hold. This is your very own hidden stash that you can hide anywhere of your choosing kind of like setting up a tent but that it holds much less things ofcourse. Hide it in a bush or any place of your choosing.

Tents are pretty rare as is and It would be cool to hide an extra pistol or some medicine at a location you and your buddies know of.

I suppose tents are rare for a reason. The game is about perma-death, its why you make certain decisions and why you don't make them. You dont want too lose your items and start over again, having a tent already removed a great part of the perma death since you can basicly have a whole extra set of gear in there, IF you can find the tent in the first place.

You now no longer have a weapon on startup to increase difficulty, if you have such a backpack you can just place it somewhere near the shore, stash a weapon and whatnot in there once you're on your feet. Next time you die you skip the whole beginner thing.

I see what you mean and you make a good point. The reason I think this would be good is because in real life who wouldnt be able to leave a bag somewhere so that they can enter a town and grab new loot. Limiting a player to carry only a few items on his person is very limiting and not realistic. But I do understand your concern of how you can basically skip the newbie session if you die. Then again a bag doesnt really hold that much stuff as like a tent.

Yeah, but if that looting survivor died, he wouldn't be able to get that bag back, would he? No. Cause he'd be dead.

Think rocket has mentioned bag size a few times aswell, he said that having limited bag space forces you to make decisions since you can't take everything, you want that extra mag for your weapon but you also need food, or should you bring that extra box of painkillers?

With tents you've already gained alot of extra space to store whatever ( even though tents eat my shit up all the time )

Same goes for vehicles, also you can also barely find those since they're always hoarded somewhere.

And i think you can carry alot of items on you as it is.

Great idea but is only really necessary if stamina is added to game since then you wanna be light upon scavenging a village.Backpacks are ideal because you can drop one down in a bush somewhere.Just have to remember which bush. :D
