Unable to properly die...

I was in a server earlier today, I forget exactly which one right now, but I know that it was an Atlanta server.

Anway, I was having bad luck starting out, I made my way to a town and was spotted by a zombie, I ran through buildings, was unable to ditch the amassed horde that was now on my tail. I continued running, through buildings, hopping over fences and such until I found an M1911 in a shack, I picked it up and started dispatching some of the zombies but was still taking damage and running out of ammunition. I decided I would just let the horde kill me, as I was still relatively fresh. So they killed me. I saw the server message "Nutso was killed"

I aborted from the server, disconnected, then reconnected to the server to be at the exact same spot with 6000 blood and an empty M1911. I took two steps and was greeted by more zombies. This time, they broke my leg. I let them kill me again and once again saw that I had been killed. I reconnected to the server with 6000 blood, a broken leg and an empty M1911 as well a character of my former self, standing with a gun drawn. I shot at the character, saw blood splatter and then came the zombies. I chose to respawn, saw the killed message, came back in. Low and behold.. broken leg, 6000 blood, empty M1911, still in the same spot.

My question is.. was this a glitch on the server? or a server setting that does not alow you to respawn or flat out die? I can see how it can be a benefit, but for me, it was a huge inconvenience.

I ultimately ended up switching servers and all was back to normal.

Got the same problem. New version must be screwed.

It's in the changelog... Rocket implemented what is now being referred to as 'ghosting'. As long as you disconnect from the server within 60 seconds of being attacked, either by zombie or by player, you get a 'freebie' life - i.e. 6k blood and a broken leg, but you keep your gear.
