Error: "waiting for character to create"

I downloaded Day Z today for the first time, Arma 2 is updated, Daz Z is up-to-date, but every single Day Z server I join gives me the message "waiting for character to create" once server has been loaded...?

I've tried this on numerous servers and it's the same every single time.

I've checked tons of threads with the same problem, but every single one of them says the exact same thing 'Oh there was a DDOS attack the other day, that's probably why', and that's it! No explanation or help beyond that as far as I can find...

So is there no solution to this problem?

I think a lot of other people are having this same problem, I had it earlier and just got off of DayZ so just keep an eye on the forums and you might find a solution.

solution is to wait. this is a server sided issue / lots of ppl try to connect coz they wanna test the new update so chillaxe a bit...

maybe too many people try to log in. its always the same with every patch. dont do anything. just wait
