What happened: I can't join a game, I am receiving several cryptic error messages.

What you were doing: Trying to get this mod working

I unzipped and placed the files in steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead/@days/Addons. Starting via steam with the launch options set to "-nosplash -mod=@dayz;", I receive an error for CABuildingParts during launch. The game loads, then I am brought to the main menu with the background animation frozen black. I am faced with an error involving Citizen1.scope. Finally, after trying joining a game, I am kicked out with an error of downloadable content that has been deleted.

Having very little experience with ARMA 2, I am thoroughly confused. Any pointers on what to try next?

Are you running the game in combined ops mode? Day-Z requires both ARMA II and ARMA II: Operation arrowhead running in combined ops mode. Chernarus is the map from the original Arma II and the playable space in Day-Z.

I thought I was running in Combined Ops mode, but then I realized I didn't even have ARMA II installed. Thanks for the heads up, I'll try it out once it finishes downloading.

an error of downloadable content that has been deleted.

This will probably persist after you install arma 2, it comes from the path to the mod not being correct in the shortcut.
