All the videos I watched on YouTube have chat down the side, I know they disabled that, but is there anyway to communicate with players who are near you, to tell them you're not a threat? Ive tried group chat and the white one, does that work or am I simply just being ignored haha

You can chat with other players using direct chat. You can scroll through the chat channels using the "." (period key) by default. Some servers you can use voice chat over direct chat as well. Note not all servers have this enabled.

I think there is a max range of 40M where someone will be able to read your text or hear your voice.

Cheers, whats the group chat for? the green one if memory serves

i dont think the group one serves a purpose right now as there are no groups in dayz at the moment? just clans in skype and teamspeak
