Emotionally drained after death

Recommended Posts

I was in cherno when i logged in, it was sort of dark. I turned around and saw a gun pointed at my head, and he pulled the trigger. I had better gear then usual but nothing really rare. The thing was tho, after that death i couldnt keep playing for a while. I wasnt frustrated, it was just after always watching my back and trying to stay safe, to be picked of when i felt somewhat safe. The death got to me somehow.

Have you ever felt like this after a death?

Well, I seem to avoid bandits, but thank you for warning me to get a second game ready after a bandit kills me.. haha..

Back when the connect/disconnect messages were visible in chat, I always hated seeing PlayerX was killed, only to be followed by PlayerX disconnected a minute or two later. You knew someone just got destroyed and decided to stop playing.

Sometimes death brings great relief, you can play more freely, when you've lost all your gucci gear, other times I just want to go do something else.

I'm not sure how you felt safe spawning in Cherno...

But i was killed in the middle of nowhere up north, in a field making room in my gear for a cow i was about to kill... night time, miles from any civilisation, thought i was safe.. at least 3 bandits opened up on me with automatic fire..had the best gear to date. Pretty much everything.. had scouted the field for 5 minutes before entering it and had no made a noise... they must have out searching for crash sites or about to hunt the same cow...since then i have decided to take more risks.. as death can come from anywhere.. might as well embrace it! But yes death can be demoralising..

I have a cool story bro for this topic, i don't know how long i can type on my phone though LOL.

After an expedition to the NW airfield with my friend that resulted in his death i decided to be a good buddy and head back to the coast to pick him up.

On my way back i figured it couldn't hurt to stop at the Stary Sobor military base to pick him up a nice present. I went in in a lazy manour, not checking the treeline and such. While looking through the tents i found a DMR which was at the time the first sniper i had found. I leave the tent and proceed across to the other row of tents, while about directly in the middle of the rows of tents i see another player peeking out from behind a tent at the end of one of the row.

The moment i spot him he opens fire with what i think was an m1911 killing me reasonably quickly (fast enough that i couldn't react)

After this character's death i was pretty de-morolised and took a break for a while. I forgot rule #1.

Yes, I can relate to this.

Mainly because I spend so much time and effort avoiding danger that when I end up dieing, I don't think the death itself is bad, or that I lose all my items, but that my constant carefull planning was all in vain. It's also exhausting in the long run.

Now I just sprint to all the key places as fast as I can to "gear up". Sneaking around constantly doesn't feel worth it anymore.

Or maybe they could be thinking, "oh, I got killed out of carelessness. Maybe that's my cue to stop for the day".

Happened to me. But I don't disagree, I'm sure some might be too attached to their NVG's and other Louis Vuittons.

Yep - worse when it's death by hacker - but I definitely know how you fell. If you can, make a learning experience out of it. Give it a bit of time, then come back to the game. Maybe try gearing up somewhere else (Berezino, or Zelenogorsk?).

I had it better.

After surviving fight against enemy ambush(2 my comrades died and 2 of hostile died) I get enemy tractor and decide to give him a ride.

So I try to hide it under a tree and get out and instantly get crushed by tree and tractor.

Died with the great stuff.

Good thing that I reclaim my gear. After like 40 minutes of being lost in the dark and getting cold. I take my revenge on tractor and shoot him to his fiery death. After then I go to sleep.

It should end here but no.

At the morning I move to Dolina factory and find another tractor near - fully repaired and tanked.

So I steal it.

When I drove in the forest from the hill I hit one tree. One time.

It explode and I died due to low health by cold.

So yeah BEWARE the KILLING TRACTORZ of DEATH!

I just died yesterday due to my carelessness. Logged on looted one deer hut a the base of green mountain, moved to next deer hut only to climb up ladder to get shot in the back with a pistol of all things.

I like to make each death a learning experience, for example I believe the main reason I died was because I just logged in and did not secure the surrounding area and just started hoping in deer huts.

I was looting berezino today. One of the red blocky apartments that are also found in northern cherno.

I had a feeling I was not alone when I saw random shotgun shells on a balcony and the general lack of loot.

Got a bit careless when I looted the third and last apartment in the area. On the top floor I went inside the flat and there was someone lying on the ground, pointing his gun at me.

I think we both started shooting immediately, I was trying to back off, though.

Broke a leg, was down to 1k blood so I had to bandage. While I was doing so he came back into my field of view.

We both died. I did 2 seconds before he did.

I had trouble running there to get my gear because I felt I needed a break.

Yeah, that sound about my situation. You simply need to relax a while before you can get back in to the bloodthirsty land called Chernarus!
