Hatchets

I spawned in the wilderness today at the very north west corner of the map, I journeyed through all of noba..boa and all the way down to Kamorov - went through all the loot locations and found nothing. Almost got mauled to death a few times since the barns are usually filled with 2-3 zombies. Anyone have tips where to find a hatchet?

Just to clarify - did you not see any loot at all or just no hatchets? Usually they can be found aplenty in barns & industrial buildings (metal sheds, warehouses etc.). The closer you get to the coast, the higher the chances that players spawning in from the coast already scavenged the buildings.

You have the opposite of my problem. I've been in buildings with close to 4 hatchets at one time. Farms are definitely a hatchet hot spot as well as most industrial type buildings.
