Radio=>Global chat

Recommended Posts

So you guys removed global chat, "becaus it's not realistic"

but without global chat the game changed

I have to say I don't like this at all...

Also with global chat I had funny or interesting conversation with other players about the game or other stuff and I did enjoy this, also they helped me a lot in the beginning.

So if it's because of realism I suggest implement the radio in the game, if a player found radio he can gobal chat with other players who have radio.

So many people have said this that I'd be amazed if they didn't implement it.

After all, there IS a radio item in the ArmA base game.

It will happen. Find radio = ability to chat with others who have a radio.

I do have to say, The servers that had alot of chatter in global tended to have more friendly's.

It enabled people to talk and grow to trust each other, form groups, help people out, it was alot more social. Its alot more fun when alot of people are talking. I was having just about as much fun talking to people about what was going on in the server with everyone as I was playing.

I helped out someone get parts for a car, I saved some guy from some zeds, I had fun being creepy scaring afew by talking them and telling them where they were and what they were doing...

Everyone was able to tell people that they were friendly or not and if they were in an area or not... After 9 hrs of playing with 12-18 people.... NO ONE killed anyone. There was not 1 Murder in the whole time I was playing.

Everyone that approached an area someone was in was publicly announced, Everyone identified themselves and intentions, We all knew if someone was a bandit or not.

It probably Discouraged banditry.

It wasnt about PVP but people working together to achieve goals, getting gear, fixing cars, building a base of operations.. etc.

Global communication on a server is the key to having a more friendly atmosphere with a much lower PVP when everyone is encouraged to talk to one another.

When no one talks, you know ur on a server full of bandits.

Without human interaction, its a lot easier to just kill someone that you have not spoken to.

I find it less likely that I will Kill someone Ive been speaking to and bonding with for the past few hrs, There is a Disconnect from the fact that they are a person and not just another kill objective.

You make friends with people, you band together. You warn each other of any danger, You know whats going on in the world with everyone, Again, people you bond with you are less likely to kill, but rather defend and help, You end up relying on one another.

This was my experience on a private server recently, The most fun Ive ever had on DayZ.

I love it when its social.

I think Half the reason so much PVP is going on is because everyone thinks the person they come across is going to kill them on sight so they kill first. Publicly Announcing your intentions on global tends to stop this.

I think public chatt should be at least a server option, as with it I think you will see friendly based servers, and I think people will want this option, not everyone wants to play pvp and I think this will only increase with demand as people will want choice as to how they can play.

If demand is there and admins want this kind of thing you will only see more private servers if they can't do this on the hive.

I'd even go as far to suggest giving admins a no friendly fire checkbox.

See how popular the friendly servers are and you will then know if there is a big enough demand for PVE servers.

I enjoy what we currently have, but it would also be nice to take a break and play for the fun of the environment and socal experience every now and again.

It makes the experience completely different.
